Halle Bailey was touched by her sister Chloe‘s kind words while discussing her role in the upcoming Disney live-action remake of ‘The Little Mermaid.’ 

The official trailer for the 1985 remake film The Little Mermaid has officially debuted at this year’s 95th Oscars telecast and has received an overall positive response.

Halle Bailey, who is playing Ariel in The Little Mermaid, recently addressed the racist backlash she has received online and said she expected it.

What are your thoughts on the cast? What other Disney films should get the live-action treatment?

Bailey is half of the sister duo Chloe x Halle. She will star in the live-action version that will include songs from the 1989 animated Disney hit as well as new tunes from original composer Alan Menken and “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Marshall says that Bailey “possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role.”
