“He was so much of a blessing as a father, entrepreneur, an incredible artist and young mogul,” said Khaled, who took part in a poignant Grammy tribute to Hussle. “We learned a lot from him, and we’re still learning. His music spoke volumes. It touched people in different ways. I was blessed to work with him.”

The award show will feature a tribute with artist including gospel singer Kirk Franklin, John Legend, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch, YG and DJ Khaled, several of which appear on Hussle’s nominated songs.

Dugan, who took the helm of the academy in August, alleges unlawful gender discrimination, sexual harassment, unlawful retaliation and unequal pay.

The Grammy’s are set to premiere on CBS on January 26, 2020.

The hearse carrying Hussle’s coffin from the Staples Center will then travel deep into the neighborhood where the deadly Rodney King race riot began in 1992 and on past the property where Hussle had planned to turn an aging strip mall into new businesses and affordable homes. Finally, it will arrive at a funeral home in the city’s hard-scrabble Crenshaw district, where the rapper was born on Aug. 15, 1985.

His attorney, Christopher Darden, did not dispute the bail amount, which the prosecution requested. Darden declined comment after the hearing.

Actress Lauren London posted a solo picture of Hussle along with other images that included her, the rapper and their family on her Instagram account Tuesday. She captioned her photos writing: “I’m lost without you.”

Los Angeles police Chief Michel Moore has scheduled a briefing Tuesday morning in which he will discuss how detectives came to identify Eric Holder as the man suspected of killing Hussle Sunday afternoon and wounding two others. No additional details, other than that Holder is suspected of fleeing in a 2016 Chevy Cruze with the license plate 7RJD742, have been released.

Police said Hussle was one of three men shot Sunday outside Marathon Clothing, his store in South Los Angeles; the other two were in stable condition. A large crowd gathered outside the store as night fell. Detectives were canvassing the area for witnesses and looking to see if any surveillance video captured the shooting, police Lt. Chris Ramirez said.
