Tammy Williams is the first Black woman to own a production studio in Atlanta, joining Tyler Perry Studios to break barriers in the state’s Entertainment industry. 

“With people of color being the cornerstone of the Democratic Party, Atlanta remains set to provide a large portion of votes for our eventual nominee,” Mayor Bottoms said in her pitch.

The 330 acre film studio consist of sound studios, a white house, a hospital set and a long list of other notable features. This studio location carries great significance as it formally served as a Confederate Army Base.

“I think it’s pivotal in everything that we’ve done, everything that we’re doing still, that we continue to try to motivate and inspire people,” Perry told The Associated Press as he shook hands with well-wishers.
