DC Musician Aaron Spears, Drummer For Ariana Grande, Passes Away At 47

Aaron Spears, a Grammy-nominated D.C. producer and drummer who worked with Ariana Grande, Usher, and Britney Spears, has died at 47. 

Spears’ wife announced his death on Facebook Monday morning,” Aaron was not only an incredibly accomplished drummer admired by many for his unparalleled talent and passion for music.” She continues, “We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Please remember Aaron for the incredible person he was and the amazing music he brought into our world.”

Spears played on the 2004 “Confessions” album by Usher, which earned him a Grammy nomination.  Season 3 of The Masked Singer included him as a music coordinator and percussionist. 


“I can’t wrap my head around this,” said Ariana Grande in an Instagram Story post. “We were all so incredibly lucky to know Aaron. The absolute brightest light of a human being. Always the kindest, always smiling. I am so honored and thankful that our paths crossed and to have spent so much very special time together.” 

The nature of his death hasn’t been released.
