#UPDATE (7:44pm) – The suspected gunman who fired shots at a campaign rally of Donald Trump in Butler, Pa. is said to be dead along with a rally attendee. Reports also indicate another person was seriously injured. According to Trump’s campaign, the former president is said to be “fine.” Trump was quickly whisked off the stage with a bloody face. It is not clear if Trump was actually shot.
(Saturday, July 13, 2023) – Former President Donald Trump is said to be fine after he had to be whisked off the stage at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania this evening following what appears to be gunshots fired during the event.
Trump was just moments into a campaign speech when loud bangs could be heard. Trump can be seen grabbing his ear before he ducked behind the podium and Secret Service Agents rushed in. When Trump got off the ground, blood can be seen on his face and ear. He raised his fist in the air and yelled “fight fight fight.” .
A statement from his campaign was released moments ago. “President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act,” said spokesman Steven Cheung. “He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”
The Secret Service also released a statement saying the former President is safe. According to several reports, the shooter is “no longer a threat.”
