Former Employee of Ben’s Chili Bowl Bernadette “Peaches” Halton Passed Away

Friday, Ben’s Chili Bowl announced the passing of Bernadette “Peaches” Halton.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Bernadette “Peaches” Halton, who began working at Ben’s at age 17 and stayed with us for 44 years. Six days a week, she stirred every pot of chili by hand, using the recipe handed down to her by none other than Ben Ali himself. Although she stepped away from the day-to-day operations a few years ago, Peaches remained like a sister to our family and a daughter to Virginia,” said the statement.

The statement continued, ” “Ben’s means a lot to the community – all ages, shades, and where they come from,” Peaches once shared. “And Ben’s means the world to me because, for over 40 years, it’s been not just a job but a family.” It was our privilege to work with you, Peaches, and you will be terribly missed. Rest in peace.”

Please accept our heartfelt condolences.
