DC AG Sues Proud Boys, Oath Keepers Members

It’s an effort to regain millions the district spent defending the U.S. Capitol during the January 6th riot.

(Washington, DC) — The Washington, DC Attorney General is suing members of the far-right groups Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. It’s an effort to regain millions the district spent defending the U.S. Capitol during the January 6th riot. The lawsuit accuses 31 members of the groups of “conspiring to terrorize the District” and called their actions “a coordinated act of domestic terrorism.” DC Attorney General Karl Racine wants the court to find the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys liable for millions spent dispatching officers from the police department to the Capitol. The funds would also cover the expense of treating the injured officers and paying for medical leave in the months after the riot. Racine said “no one bore the brunt of this gutless attack more than the courageous law enforcement officers.”
