Thank You DMV! #Food2Feed 2018 Was A Success!

Today is the day of our 41st annual Food2Feed Thanksgiving Drive! We are accepting food and monetary donations around the station on Georgia Ave and Bryant St until 7 p.m. Volunteers began collecting donations at 6 a.m. and regardless of the cold weather everyone is in great sprits. Last year with the help of our listeners WHUR was able to raise almost $10,000 and tons of non-perishable goods. Let’s make that happen again this year! If you can’t make it out to the station you can call the Food2Feed phone bank operator at 202-462-0285 and our SunTrust operator will take your donation.

We would like to thank every individual or group that made a donation of any kind. With your help, we were able to raise over $30,000 in monetary donations along with a truck full of canned goods and non-perishable food items.

A very special thank you goes out to our wonderful sponsors, hardworking volunteers, on-air talent and WHUR staff members who worked tirelessly during the 13-hour radiothon. Shoutout to our awesome Howard University students who volunteered all day as part of the “bucket-brigade” collecting cash donations along Georgia Ave, NW.

This year, OVER 300 Howard University student volunteers signed up to work the food drive and radiothon!

Food2Feed has been in operation for 41 years and each year, we continue to be amazed by the great outpouring of support.

If you missed the 13-hour radiothon Tuesday, you can still make a donation online. Spread the word please. Let’s help as many people as we can!
