The White House is telling former White House counsel Don McGahn not to testify before the House Judiciary Committee tomorrow. The Democratic-led panel subpoenaed McGahn to testify about the final report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller . The White House directive followed an opinion from the Justice Department that McGahn cannot be forced to testify. He has not worked at the White House since last October. McGahn could be held in contempt of Congress if he does not show up.
