Magoo Has Reportedly Passed Away At Age 50

Melvin “Magoo” Barcliff, half of Timbaland & Magoo, and a Virginia native, has reportedly died.

Digital Black, from Playa, posted a tribute to the late rapper on his Instagram page on Sunday (August 13), with the caption reading,”Man can’t believe this RIH Magoo damn big bro wasn’t ready for this at all #superfriends

Timbaland released a statement on Instagram, “This one hits different 🥲🥲🥲 long live Melvin aka magoo !!!💔💔💔 Tim and Magoo forever 🕊️🕊️🕊️ rest easy my king ❤️❤️❤️,” he wrote.


Ginuwine also posted about the rapper’s untimely passing on Instagram. “Times get rough, but we keep on pushing. [I] just heard some news I hope it ain’t true …I just want everyone to know that time is short. Love who you love, and make sure they know it,” he wrote on Sunday (August 13).

Formed in 1989, Timbaland & Magoo met as teenagers and formed a rap group. Best known for “Up Jumps Da Boogie,” the pair released three albums and worked with Missy Elliott.

Magoo was 50. His cause of death has not been revealed at this time.
