During the year’s Super Bowl halftime performance, Abbott Elementary actress Sheryl Lee Ralph will perform the Black National Anthem.

The actress showed off her vocal chops during her acceptance speech after winning an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.  Ralph will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

She shared her excitement about the performance on Instagram, writing, “Come on now. Don’t you ever give up on you baby! I’ll be singing ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’ at Super Bowl LVII. See you there.” Actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, quoting Ralph’s acceptance speech in a comment, “This is what believing looks like.”


Joining the Dreamgirl for the preshow will be the smooth sounds of Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds performing “America the Beautiful.” Country singer, Chris Stapleton will sing the “National Anthem”, providing American Sign Language (ASL) will be Oscar award winner Troy Kotsur.
