Sheryl Lee Ralph shared her thoughts on Sherri Shepherd’s crush on her son, Etienne Maurice.  The “Abbott Elementary” star appeared on Kelly Ripa’s SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa.”

Ralph excitedly mentioned his son’s engagement to ABC News journalist Stephanie Wash.  Shortly after, she was asked if Shepherd would “get over” her son’s engagement to a woman who is not her. Ralph laughed off Shephard’s “auntie crush” but said Sherri had a run-in with Maurice and his fianceé before he proposed to her at this year’s Essence Fest. 

“It was quite the thing she [Shepherd] said,” ‘Uh don’t – listen, please don’t think I’m gonna stop just because you got a good girlfriend. Come on, Etienne. I knew you first, Etienne,’ ” Ralph recalled. “Oh, it was hilarious.”
