The Black Church and The Black Community

We’re asking a question that goes straight to the heart of the Black community: where is the Black church in 2026? For generations, the Black church has been far more than a place of worship. It has been a center of leadership, education, activism and social change. But today, some are asking whether that force has been quieted — and whether it’s time to awaken what they call “the sleeping giant”. Is the Black church asleep? Or is it simply evolving to meet a different set of challenges? Tonight, we’ll hear from members of the clergy about the role of the black church today, tomorrow — and the call to action facing it now.
