The late rapper, Nipsey Hussle, will be honored this year at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards.

Hussle, who was unfortunately a victim of gun violence last year, has been widely praised for his contributions to his South L.A community.

He is currently nominated, once again, for three Grammy Awards. The award show will feature a tribute with artist including gospel singer Kirk Franklin, John Legend, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch, YG and DJ Khaled several of which appear on Hussle’s nominated songs. Last year, DJ Khaled, YG and John Legend performed a tribute to Nipsey Hussle at the BET Awards.

“An activist, entrepreneur and rapper, Nipsey Hussle had a lasting impact on not just his community, but also the culture at large,” said Ken Ehrlich, Grammy Awards executive producer.

The late rappers final album ‘Victory Lap’ has also reached platinum status, just days before he is set to be honored.
