(Minneapolis, MN) — Several groups of activists are calling for the interim Minneapolis police chief to resign following a deadly shooting. The groups organized a caravan that drove through Minneapolis last night in protest of last week’s killing of Amir Locke as police carried out a no-knock search warrant. Part of the caravan gathered at what’s thought to be the home of interim Police Chief Amelia Huffman. While outside the home, they called for Huffman’s resignation and chanted the names of Locke and Breonna Taylor. She was killed during a no-knock warrant by Kentucky police in 2020.
