(Newport News, VA) — A teacher shot by a six-year-old in a Virginia classroom is suing school administrators. Abigail Zwerner accused them of not acting even though they knew about the child’s history of violence. Her suit also alleges that the assistant principal ignored concerns from teachers and staff members that the boy may have had a firearm the morning of the shooting in January. According to the complaint, Assistant Principal Ebony Parker ignored “at least three” warnings about the weapon in his backpack. Zwerner was hospitalized when a bullet went into her chest.
