2 Rescued , 6 Still Remain In Key Bridge Collapse Search

A massive search and rescue is underway in Baltimore after the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Crews were working on the bridge when a container ship struck the bridge. Rescuers are searching for six missing people after the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed in Baltimore.

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski is offering support to those impacted by the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge following a collision with a cargo ship.

The incident, which occurred early in the morning, resulted in multiple cars plunging into the water below. Olszewski emphasized the importance of search, rescue, and recovery efforts, thanking first responders for their selfless work.


Two people have been rescued, with one hospitalized. The collapse was caused by a cargo ship striking the bridge early Tuesday morning. All eight individuals on the bridge at the time were MDOT contractors. The ship’s crew is safe, and authorities are conducting a search and rescue mission despite frigid water temperatures.

The FBI is investigating the incident, but no evidence of terrorism has been found.
