Idris Elba, English actor in HBO’s ‘The Wire’ and Nelson Mandela in ‘Mandela: A Long Walk to Freedom’, will now focus on his music career.

Elba has not only depicted a DJ in Netflix series ‘Turn Up Charlie,’  but he served as DJ for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception and performed at Coachella in 2019. 

In a recent Vanity Fair interview, Elba told the publication that he wants to “lean away” from acting. “Some may think, ‘Well, it will be the death of your acting if your music’s s—t.’ I’ve dealt with the internal struggle of that over the years, so now I’m at peace and I’ve chosen: This is what I’m doing, and I’m going to do it. Some will love it and some will hate it.”
