Comedian and actress Issa Rae is best known for her HBO hit show, Insecure. However it was recently announced that she would be producing a new show for HBO Max.
HBO says Rap Sh*t ( working title) will be a half hour comedy show. “[Rap Sh*t] follows a female rap group from outside of Miami trying to make it in the music industry. The series will be executive produced by Rae and Montrel McKay for Issa Rae Productions, as well as Jonathan Berry (Insecure) and Dave Becky (Master of None, Russian Dolls) for 3 Arts Entertainment, with Rae also writing the pilot.”

This will be Issa Rae’s third venture with HBO after Insecure and A Black Lady Sketch Show, both of which she acts in and produces.
Fans will have to wait a while for Rap Sh*t (and sadly Insecure) as HBO Max is not set to launch until May 2020. However there will be a price to get more Issa Rae in your life, the new platform will have its own $14.99 fee.
While we wait for her return, Rae has been working on  her music label, “Raedio,” alongside Atlantic Records.
