The surprise finale of season 4 of “Insecure” shocked many, including Jay Ellis himself, who stars as ‘Lawrence’ on the hit HBO show.

“I think he is either where a lot of us are currently walking or we just walked out of that — those footsteps — and so I think that’s why a lot of dudes connect with him and relate to him,” said the 38-year-old Ellis.

Insecure season 4 is available on April 12 on HBO.

Last June, Senicar also announced that she and Ellis were engaged and planning to get married this summer. However, no official confirmation of their wedding has yet been given. Either way, it seems that the new family is very happy together.

“Well, Issa became a big movie star!” Bloys states, “We’re not the first place to deal with this, but when you’re in business with very creative and talented people, there’s a lot more opportunities for people to do things. Issa, I think, partly wanted a break to come back to it fresh.”
