Florida Rejects African American Studies Course

The White House has called the move incomprehensible.

(Tallahassee, FL) — The state of Florida is rejecting a proposal to offer an AP course on African American studies. The state Department of Education sent out a letter last week saying the course significantly lacks educational values and is inexplicably contrary to Florida law. Officials went on to say that if the College Board comes back with historically accurate content then they will consider reopening the discussions. The program was offered this year at sixty high schools across the country on a trial basis and was supposed to expand to more next year. The White House has called the move incomprehensible.
