(Washington, DC) — The nine-year-old boy who was killed in a rowhouse fire earlier this month is being laid to rest today. The funeral for Yafet Solomon will be held this morning in Northwest DC. Solomon died two days after the fire broke out in the basement of the two-story home in the 700-block of Kennedy Street on August 18th. A man was also killed in the blaze. A criminal investigation into the cause of the fire is underway after it was discovered the house was illegally rented and had safety violations.
