Geldart Out as DC Deputy Mayor for Public Safety

Geldart was accused of assault after an incident in the parking lot of Gold’s Gym in Alexandria on October 1st.

Christopher Geldart, DC’s Deputy Mayor for Public Safety is out of a job.  DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that she accepted the resignation of one of her top aides.  Geldart was accused of assault after an incident in the parking lot of Gold’s Gym in Alexandria on October 1st. That incident also raised questions about his residency as a top DC official.  Geldart rents an apartment in the District, but his family lives in Alexandria.  The mayor said this incident has distracted from the business of the District.
