(Baltimore, MD) — A new poll shows Congressman David Trone’s lead is widening in the race for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring Senator Ben Cardin. The Baltimore Sun/Fox 45/University of Baltimore survey taken last week puts Trone ahead of PG County Executive Angela Alsobrooks in the Democratic primary by 19 points. Pundits believe Trone’s year-long TV ad campaign has helped his standing big time. However, the poll also found Trone losing to former Governor Larry Hogan in a potential November match-up by 13 points.
