(Moscow) — The trial of WNBA star Brittney Griner will resume next Thursday in Russia. That country’s state news agency said charges were announced against the member of the Phoenix Mercury by the prosecutor. Griner stands accused of having under a gram of cannabis oil in her luggage when she arrived in Russia back in February. She plays there during the WNBA’s offseason. A top U.S. Embassy official says she spoke with Griner while in court. Elizabeth Rood said Griner wanted everybody to know “that she is in good spirits and is keeping up the faith.”
