House Explodes In Arlington As Police Serve Search Warrant

Officials are investigating a massive explosion that destroyed a duplex in Arlington, Virginia, a suburb located across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.

According to Arlington County police, a statement released says, “They were first called to the 800 block of N. Burlington Street around 4:45 p.m. ET after receiving a report of possible gunshots.”

The explosion occurred while officers were trying to serve a search warrant at the residence. The suspect fired several shots inside the home before the explosion happened. The explosion destroyed a duplex and shook the suburb.

Arlington County Police Department is leading the investigation. NPR reported, that three officers were injured, but not taken to the hospital and the status of the suspect in unclear. At this moment, no further details have been released at this time.
