What’s behind the push back on Black cultural and educational issues in Florida?

An African American studies course that’s been banned in Florida is being revised.  The College Board says they’ll release the new advanced placement course on February 1st.  The original course was blocked by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who claimed it was “contrary to Florida’s Anti-Woke Act.”
Civil Rights attorney Ben Crump and members of the Florida legislature’s Black caucus announced a lawsuit against the state’s decision to reject the Advanced placement course. What’s going on here?  What’s behind the push back on Black cultural and educational issues in Florida?
