According to a report released by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, 87,000 women were killed globally in 2017. Among the women killed last year, 58% of them died at the hands of someone they knew – whether it was an intimate partner or family member. “That works out to 137 per day — nearly six every hour.”
