Black Ambition, a non profit created by legendary producer Pharrell Williams, has opened applications again for Black and Latinx entrepreneurs to win up to $1 million.

Black Ambition is a non-profit organization founded by the visionary producer to access growth capital, pitch feedback, and mentorship.

“In 2021, Black Ambition supported over 250 entrepreneurs and awarded over $3.2 million to support their endeavors. What’s more, entrepreneurs from the competition continued to soar, earning over $40 million after receiving a Black Ambition Prize,” reports Afrotech. Last year’s winners were Mya Havard, CEO of She.ad, and Justin Turk, CEO of Livegistics.

“With Black Ambition, the goal is to help strengthen the pipeline of talented entrepreneurs and close the opportunity and wealth gaps derived from limited access to capital and resources,” said Williams. (via Black Ambition Prize)

The initiative is headed by CEO Felicia Hatcher, Co-Founder of Black Tech Week and The Center for Black Innovation. Hatcher was honored with 2014 Obama White House Champion of Change for STEM Access and Diversity, Harvard Young American Leader, and Essence Magazine Tech Master among many others. Black Ambition’s team consists of 7 members, 5 being women of color.

Black and Latinx founders building across Consumer Products and Services, Media and Entertainment, Healthcare, Tech, and Web 3.0. are eligible to win.

The contest is split into two portals of entry, The Black Ambition Prize and The Black Ambition HBCU Prize. Both deadlines for applications are May 8th.
