The Economic Plight of the Black Farmer

Where is the debt relief for black farmers who are really struggling to stay afloat?

If you are asked to picture what a modern commercial farmer looks like… what do you see?  Perhaps you may imagine a white man, his face reddened and skin lined by years of planting, tilling, harvesting crops to make a living. That would not be inaccurate.  But there are also modern commercial Black farmers in America… doing the same kind of work.  They are a smaller, but significant part of this country’s agricultural industry. But there are issues black farmers are fighting for today. Issues that have existed for decades. We’re talking about debt relief for black farmers who are really struggling to stay afloat.
