CT Mayor: Randy Cox Will Pursue Deal With City
(New Haven, CT) — The Mayor of New Haven, Connecticut, says lawyers for Randy Cox have agreed to pursue a settlement in his civil lawsuit against the city. Cox was being transported in a police van in June when he was thrown against the wall of the vehicle when it was stopped short, and was later seen being dragged into a cell. The original charges against him were dismissed, while the five officers involved in the incident were charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and cruelty to persons. Mayor Justin Elicker tells WTNH-TV Cox’s legal team has okayed negotiations to begin.
