Washington, D.C. – (Thursday, November 7, 2019) – It’s Friday eve and ladies across the DMV are getting ready for the weekend. Hair and nail salons are packed with women getting in some well-deserved pampering after a long work week. It’s a perfect time for 96.3 WHUR and Wells Fargo to serve up some goodwill to a small business and unsuspecting customers for “Pay It Forward Thursdays.”
WHUR and Wells Fargo, as part of the bank’s, ‘Where We Live Initiative,” surprised the owner of Nail Bed & Bar Salon at 2922 Minnesota Avenue, NE by treating all of her customers to free manicures and pedicures. The salon was packed with women happy to take a quick moment to focus on themselves. “Oh my goodness. I’m just so surprised and so thankful to WHUR and Wells Fargo for thinking of us for this wonderful treat,” said salon owner J. Nail Bed & Bar Salon is nestled in the heart of the District’s Ward 7 community with other small businesses.
“We’ve been open for a little over 12 months. But the response has really been tremendous and I’m hopeful I can grow my business to more salons around the DMV,” added J who is a native Washingtonian.
WHUR and Wells Fargo have teamed up to spark a movement of kindness across the Washington region hitting the streets to surprise customers by treating them to all kinds of goodies and services like ice cream, haircuts and styles, lunch, gas, SmartTrip cards, and groceries. This was my lucky day. I was all prepared to pay for my mani-pedi and then WHUR and Wells Fargo came in with the big announcement. Today, is actually my birthday so this is extra special for me,” said one of the customers at Nail Bed & Bar Salon. Look out for WHUR and Wells Fargo. You never know where we will pop-up next.
