According to AP News, “a traditional part of the peaceful handoff of power” in the Oval Office today at the invitation of President Biden, exchanged between former and future President Donald Trump.

In 2016, Trump and then-President Obama had a friendly meeting in the Oval Office, with Trump expressing respect for Obama.

Despite their strained relationship, Biden invited Trump to the White House after the 2024 election, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful transition for the American people.Melania Trump will not meet first lady Jill Biden, although the first ladies do traditionally meet.

The meeting between Trump and Biden comes after a contentious campaign and debate, highlighting the challenges of political transitions in the U.S.

Their last meeting face-to-face was at the June debate, during which Biden called Trump a “convicted felon” and said he had the “morals of an alleycat.”

While the meeting on Wednesday is likely to be courteous, the pair are bitter rivals.

Elon Musk, a huge backer of Trump’s 2024 bid, was also reported to be with Trump on his plane as they headed to Washington.

Racist Text And Emails Circulating To Black People About Picking Cotton At The Nearest Plantation

Dozens of Black people across the country reported receiving text messages and emails inviting them to pick cotton at the nearest plantation just hours after the presidential election.

The messages, which included racist language and threats, left recipients feeling scared and targeted.

NBC News reports College students from various universities, including Ohio State and Clemson, were among those who received the messages.

Monèt Miller from Atlanta, a publicist received a text, the message said, “Our Executive Slaves will come get you in a Brown Van.” It continued, “be prepared to be searched down once you’ve enter the plantation.”

Tishaura Jones, from Saint Louis, Mayor of Saint Louis City relieved an email, Friday morning with similar text. The e-mail read, “Greetings Ni**er.”

Many believe this is a “scare tactic”, Miller told NBC, “I saw it and was like, ‘What in the world?’ Usually, in any other instance, someone is racist to the point where it’s funny, it’s a bad humor sort of funny. But that day, with the climate and everything going on, I genuinely felt scared.”

The FBI is investigating the texts, which were sent from untraceable numbers associated with a text messaging service. The NAACP condemned the messages, linking them to the president-elect’s rhetoric and expressing concern for the safety of Black individuals.

Nearly 50 Million Americans Have Already Cast Ballots in 2024 Election

The 2024 presidential election is just a week away, and early voting numbers have already surpassed those of previous elections, with over 50 million votes cast across 47 states and Washington, D.C.

The surge in early voting, which began in 2020 due to the pandemic, has continued into this election cycle, with increased Republican support for the method. Texas currently leads in early voting numbers, followed by Florida and California, with six states already seeing over 30% of their voting-age population casting their votes early.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is preparing for an increase in mailed ballots and advises voters to send them in early, ideally by Tuesday before Election Day. USPS is implementing special measures to ensure timely and secure delivery of ballots, with extra deliveries, collections, and sorting plans in place.

Early voting has seen record-breaking turnout in several states, with the Republican Party encouraging supporters to vote early and by mail like North Carolina and Georgia.

Recent arson incidents targeting ballot boxes in Vancouver, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, have raised concerns about the safety of ballots.

However, steps are being taken to ensure that affected voters are notified and their votes will be counted. The Portland Police Bureau released images of the suspect’s vehicle believed to be connected to the fires.

Voters in Multnomah County can sign up for a Track Your Ballot service to receive alerts about their ballot’s status. The Washington Secretary of State’s office also provides a way for voters to track their ballot’s return status and obtain a replacement if needed.

He added, “There’s no pulling out. They don’t do that. They c– inside, just like they did to our country.” Hinchcliffe then aimed Puerto Ricans and said, “There’s a lot going on. I don’t know if you guys know this, but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”

Hinchcliffe also took shots at the Black community, stating that his ” buddy” who is Black, explained how they “carved watermelons” together.

Rapper Lil Durk Arrested In Florida In Alleged Murder For Hire

According to TMZ, Federal authorities have arrested five people in connection with the August 2022 shooting in Los Angeles that killed Quando Rondo’s cousin, and they are now facing charges of conspiring to murder for hire as retaliation for King Von’s death.

On Thursday (October 24), California federal prosecutors indicted Kavon London Grant, AKA “Vonnie”; Deandre Dontrell Wilson, AKA “DeDe”; Keith Jones, AKA “Flacka”; David Brian Lindsey, AKA “Browneyez”; and Asa Houston, AKA “Boogie.” Lil Durk is not a defendant here, but he has actively fought the classification that OTF is a gang in a separate case regarding FBG Duck’s murder. The November 2020 Atlanta fight in which Quando associate Lul Timm shot and killed King Von prompted the August 22 shooting, according to prosecutors.

The indictment states that the alleged OTF gang members set up a bounty and used a label-affiliated credit card to book plane tickets from Chicago to California to find Quando. The Feds allege that Grant used a private jet from Miami to California to oversee the murderous operation and obtain hotel accommodations and tools.

A heartbroken Quando struggled to speak to detectives, and prosecutors claim the Chicago gang flew out the next day. Houston and Jones have Chicago hearings on Monday (October 28). The other three waived their Chicago hearing and will proceed to Los Angeles.

Obama continued, “I have done a lot of rallies. So, I don’t usually get nervous. But I was feeling some kind of way following Eminem. I noticed my palms were sweaty. Knees weak, arms are heavy. Vomit on my sweater, already. Mom’s spaghetti. I’m nervous, but on the surface, I look calm and ready.”
