This Bison-Owned Company is back at it again. Mented Cosmetics, founded by KJ Miller and Amanda E. Johnson, are listed on Oprah’s Favorite Things for the second time.

Amanda E. Johnson is a Howard University Alumn Class of ’04. She and KJ Miller met at Harvard Business School. The two created their company, Mented Cosmetics, over a glass of Pinot while discussing how it was virtually impossible to find the perfect nude lipstick.

“We created Mented Cosmetics because we believe every woman should be able to find herself in the world of beauty, no matter her skin tone. We know you’ll love being put first – because when it comes to beauty, no one deserves to be an afterthought,” said the co-founders.

The name “Mented” comes from the word “pigmented,” which is a huge part of their brand. According to the founders, all their shades have been meticulously thought out, “From our original nude lipsticks to eyeshadow palettes to blushes, each of our makeup products is perfectly pigMented to match your skin tones.”
