Patti LaBelle talked about the autocue mishap during her Tina Turner tribute at the BET Awards on Sunday night (June 25).
Patti had trouble singing “The Best” due to audience members blocking the teleprompter. She sang off-script, apologized, and questioned her ability to see the lyrics as she told the audience, “I’m tryin’ guys!”
Patti talked emotionally about Tina to Entertainment Tonight after the moment went viral. “It meant no matter what voice I’m in ― I’m hoarse, I have a cold ― but whatever, I had to, I was giving it up for Tina Turner, ’cause she’s simply the best,” she said.
“So you heard a little tweak every now and then out there, but I love her, and I did my best,” said LaBelle.
She further expressed, “Tina was a trailblazer and someone I have a tremendous amount of respect for.”
After the passing of the legendary Tina Tuner, many fans paid tribute to her, such as Beyoncè, Diana Ross, Lizzo, and more.

Blair Underwood and Josie Hart recently got married in a very intimate wedding that Blair had his hand in. Blair said about the planning, “I’ve been very involved. I’m a Virgo and a bit of a perfectionist so I like to make sure details are taken care of.”
The guest list was no more than 100 people, and the bride’s signature drink, Prosecco with a splash of grenadine, was served during the cocktail reception along with grilled bacon-wrapped plantains, coconut-breaded shrimp, and Dominican ceviche.
Underwood said, “The first time I saw her in the dress, she looked like a princess. She was so beautiful. The deep emotions that were displayed during the ceremony, the lightness and fun of the reception, it all felt humbling because it all just fell into place. It was amazing.”
Hart added, “It was surreal and magical. His vows, to hear him say the words he said to me for our forever was incredible. Between our children and all of them giving toasts, the fireworks right after our first dance, the entire day was just beyond my expectations.”
So many things can go wrong, from guests behaving badly to bad weather and more.

The Federal Trade Commission is taking Amazon to court accusing the e-commerce giant of deceiving consumers.

The FTC added that Amazon made it harder to cancel subscriptions after consumers enrolled. No comment as yet from Amazon.
The district includes parts of Fairfax and Prince William counties.

While a number of news outlets are reporting the Titanic tourist submarine that went missing over the weekend has 40 hours of oxygen left, at least one expert is saying that’s a very generous estimate.
“If a person is injured, or they’re stressed, or they’re panicking, their air consumption increases. So those numbers of available hours go down. So if people are injured on that vessel, if they’re panicked on that vessel, they’re going to use more oxygen or more air more quickly.”
The OceanGates sub, which takes tourists underwater to catch a glimpse of the world’s most famous shipwreck, went missing about one hour, 45 minutes after it launched on Sunday morning, authorities say. It had enough oxygen to last 96 hours when it left, officials say.

The DOJ alleges when Trump’s time as president ended, boxes containing classified documents that he was not authorized to keep were transported to his Florida residence.
(Washington, DC) — The Department of Justice says former President Trump stored classified information including U.S. nuclear programs and defense and weapons capabilities. The DOJ unsealed the federal indictment of Trump a day after he announced he would become the first former President to face federal charges. Trump and his aide Walt Nauta face over three dozen counts in the indictment. The DOJ alleges when Trump’s time as president ended, boxes containing classified documents that he was not authorized to keep were transported to his Florida residence. The indictment also details two incidents in 2021 when Trump showed classified documents to others at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

The indictment also provides pictures of the dozens of boxes the classified documents were allegedly stored in. The DOJ says the boxes were stored in various locations at Mar-a-Lago including a ballroom, a bathroom, a shower, an office space, Trump’s bedroom and a storage room.
Trump said he is due in court Tuesday afternoon in Miami.
MIAMI (AP) — Donald Trump said Tuesday he’s been indicted on charges of mishandling classified documents at his Florida estate, igniting a federal prosecution that is arguably the most perilous of multiple legal threats against the former president as he seeks to reclaim the White House.

The Justice Department did not immediately publicly confirm the indictment.
Trump is currently in Bedminster, New Jersey. A person familiar with the situation who was not authorized to discuss it publicly said Trump’s lawyers were contacted by prosecutors shortly before he announced on his Truth Social platform that he had been indicted.

Trump said he is due in court Tuesday afternoon in Miami.

According to Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods in a news conference Monday, a Florida mother was shot in front of her 9-year-old child by a neighbor.
Ajike Owens, 35, went to the door of her white female neighbor to address that the woman took her child’s iPad, threw it at him, and cracked the screen.
Police respond to what was labeled as a trespassing call, they found the mother of four suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she died.
“I wish our shooter would have called us instead of taking actions into her own hands,” Woods said. “I wish Ms. Owens would have called us in the hopes we could have never gotten to the point at which we are here today.”
Civil Rights Attorney Benjamin Crump made it clear that the white woman yelled racial slurs at Owen’s children in a prior confrontation, before shooting and killing their mother.
Attorney Anthony D. Thomas, the family’s attorney said, “We need an arrest.” Thomas continues, “Make no mistake about it. We do support our sheriff. But at the same time, we want him to do the job that he promised that he would do, and we want swift justice.”
The Sheriff did mention that since 2021, deputies responded to over half a dozen calls in regards to a feud. Although the shooter has been identified, no arrest has been made yet.
