Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Claims Rape Victim Was A “Willing Participant”

“I never raped the Plaintiff, and I deny her accusations of rape contained in the Amended Complaint,” Petty said in a recent court filing.

Petty previously spent four years in prison after pleading guilty to raping Jennifer Hough back in 1994. He is required to register as a sex offender which he didn’t do when he moved to Los Angeles, this triggered a violation of his probation.

Hough claims that due to her not withdrawing her harassment and intimidation lawsuit her life was threatened by Petty and Minaj.

“I pled guilty to attempted rape, despite my innocence, because I was a scared 16-year-old kid and was told that my sentence would be 20 years to life if I did not plead guilty to attempted rape,” said Petty.

Do you believe Kenneth Petty was scared into pleading guilty in this case?

How US Rules On International Travel Are Changing

By TALI ARBEL Associated Press
More than a year and a half after the U.S. to closed its borders to international travelers, restrictions are shifting to focus on COVID-19 vaccine status. Beginning Monday, bans on travel from countries including Brazil, China, India, South Africa, the United Kingdom and much of Europe are over. The U.S. will allow in international travelers, but they must be vaccinated — with a few exceptions. The U.S. is also reopening the land borders with Canada and Mexico for vaccinated people. Most trips from Canada and Mexico to the U.S. are by land rather than air.

Despite Reopening, the US Is Still Closed To Many In World

By TALI ARBEL and ANNE D’INNOCENZIO Associated Press
NEW YORK (AP) — The U.S. says that it’s inviting the global community to visit now that the government has ended the ban on travelers from 33 countries. In reality, however, it will still be difficult for much of the globe to enter the country. Experts say it will take years for travel to fully recover. Half the world isn’t vaccinated, for starters, which the U.S. now requires of entering foreigners. Even if you are vaccinated, there are months-long delays in getting the visas needed to enter the U.S. And other countries have their own strict rules which complicate foreign travel.

US Food Banks Struggle To Feed Hungry Amid Surging Prices

By JANIE HAR Associated Press
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — U.S. food banks dealing with increased demand from families sidelined by the pandemic now face a new challenge – surging food prices and supply chain issues. The higher costs and limited availability mean some families may get smaller servings or substitutions for staples like peanut butter, which costs nearly double what it did a year ago. As holidays approach, some food banks worry they won’t have enough turkeys stuffing and cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Residents picking up free groceries in Oakland said they’re grateful for the extra help as the price of dairy, meat and fuel has shot up.

Oprah And Will Smith Talk All About How He Almost Lost It All

Will and Oprah discuss a lot revolving around matters disclosed in his new memoir, ‘Will’.

Contributed by Lauren Taylor

During a recent interview for the latest episode of The Oprah Conversation, an AppleTV+ series, Oprah Winfrey discusses the details of Will Smith‘s new memoir, Will. We all know the media mogul that is Oprah Winfrey knows how to get to the nitty-gritty.

Smith describes in this new book that he nearly lost everything prior to his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air fame. This clip of the show is exclusive of Entertainment Tonight, in which Oprah opens up the conversation starting with this, “So right before Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, I think people would be surprised to know, this is the first time, I realized you basically lost everything.”

Oprah lists that he went to jail, the government seized his cars, they took his home. He  described in his memoir that he hit “rock bottom.”

She continues, “What was at the root of that downfall, Will? And the life lesson you took from it?” Smith replies, “When it rains, it pours. So getting into the fight at the radio station, Charlie punching the dude that landed me in jail, so the money is gone the care is gone.”

“I am laying on the floor in a jail cell and I am like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me!’ I won a Grammy eight months ago. Like what is happening? And it’s just the spiral when it starts going the other way. It’s like, sometimes you just have to get out the way and wait till the downward spiral stops.”

The two also delve into the paragraph in which Smith addressed the separation between him and Jada Pinkett-Smith whom he married in 1997. In which Smith revealed that the two never really “officially” split, there was an argument that caused their relationship to go downhill during Jada’s 40th birthday.

He said that the two felt as though they were trying to fulfill the happiness of one another and it just couldn’t be done. Smith said, “We just decided, ‘You have to figure out how to be happy. Go figure out if you can be happy and prove to me it’s even possible. I’m gonna do me and you do you.”

Many whispers of the Smith’s marriage circle about daily and they heavily increased once Jada confirmed her entanglement with August Alsina. Although many thought Jada was the only one, Smith disclosed that he also engaged in extramarital affairs, he said Jada wasn’t the “the only one engaging in other sexual relationships,” in a recent GQ interview.

According to Complex, Winfrey was interested in a specific part of his memoir which referenced “loving in freedom,” she questioned what exactly that meant in his relationship. Smith defined it as, “You love in freedom with everybody except your partner,” which is the case where you have to give more and are more restricted in romantic relationships rather than in friendships. “It’s friendship versus marital prison… So we talk about everything. I think the difficulty that people have and difficulty in discussing it is people only think in terms of sex.”

As reported previously, Smith never deemed his and Jada’s relationship to be that of the traditional sense.

You can catch The Oprah Conversation on AppleTV+ and the memoir Will, November 9th.

Contributed by Lauren Taylor

Black Panther star, Letitia Wright, was injured back in August on set for the sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The injury wasn’t expected to halt production when it first occurred, the actress remained in London after the incident. The shoot continued without her in Atlanta with director Ryan Coogler.

The injury occurred two months ago on-location in Boston, involving a stunt rig while shooting a sequence.

Amid Wright not being 100 percent quite yet, they’ve decided to pause production starting the week of Thanksgiving up until early 2022 Variety has confirmed. Even though the production will halt they have not changed the released date of November 11th, 2022 which was already pushed back from the original of July 8th, 2022.

Two new editions were revealed in the Variety exclusive, Michaela Coel, “I May Destroy You’ creator and star, joined the cast in an unknown role. Dominque Thorne, who will play the superhero Ironheart will be introduced in this sequel prior to her TV debut.

Las Vegas Raiders Cut Ties With Cornerback Damon Arnette After Threatening Video

A video of Damon Arnette threatening someone while brandishing a gun went viral over the weekend.

Contributed by Lauren Taylor

Las Vegas Raiders waived their Cornerback Damon Arnette. This is the second time in two weeks, that the Raiders have had to split with first-round draft picks for off-the-field incidents.

According to CBS, general manager Mike Mayock announced monday that a video of Damon Arnette threatening to kill someone while holding a gun went viral over the weekend and this is the reason for his release.

“The content [of the video] was unacceptable, contrary to our values, and our owner, Mark Davis, has been very clear and very consistent that this is not how we will conduct ourselves in this community,” Mayock said during a press conference Monday. “The bottom line: The Raiders will not tolerate this type of behavior.”

Apparently there was previous concern over Arnette’s character prior to him being drafted from Ohio state. Mayock added, “We found the risk acceptable after doing more homework on Arnette than anybody we’ve done in the years I’ve been here, and obviously, we missed. And that is 100 percent on me,” CNN reported.

The 25-year-old Arnette, appeared to be recording himself in the video, speaking into the camera while reapeadetly threatening to kill someone who seemingly indicated that they were five minutes away from his location. He did so while brandishing a gun and warning the person that he was not alone and that he had “a whole army.”

Arnette was the 19th pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft, he was selected by the Raiders and has played a total of 13 games for the team.

As previously reported by WHUR, this is following the recent cut of former Las Vegas Raider Henry Ruggs 111. Who was cut due to his arrest after his involvement in a car crash, that led to the death of Tina Tintor.

“We just lost Ruggs and Arnette, our two first-round picks, in the period of seven days,” said Mayock. “Am I sick to my stomach right now on a lot of levels? Yes.”

The huge crowd surge at Astroworld Festival in Houston Friday evening killed eight people and injured more than 300. The crowd was made up of 50,000 packed people all trying to reach the headliner Travis Scott.

As Rules Ease, Travelers Head To US For Emotional Reunions

As Rules Ease, Travelers Head To US For Emotional Reunions
By JOHN LEICESTER and TRAVIS LOLLER Associated Press
CHARLES DE GAULLE AIRPORT, France (AP) — The U.S. is lifting restrictions on travel from a long list of countries including Mexico, Canada and most of Europe, setting the stage for emotional reunions nearly two years in the making and providing a boost for the airline and tourism industries decimated by the pandemic. COVID-19 has upended lives in many ways including through travel restrictions. That has been felt acutely by those living near U.S. borders, where traveling back and forth was a way of life. Many others who live outside of the U.S. have missed out on important family milestones because of the restrictions. New rules go into effect Monday that allow nonessential travel across America’s land borders for vaccinated visitors. They also allow air travel from a series of countries from which it has been restricted.

Barriers, Crowd Control To Be Examined In Houston Concert Deaths

Investigators are looking at the design of safety barriers and crowd control to help figure out what led to a crush of spectators at a Houston music festival that left eight people dead and hundreds injured.

24-year-old Billy Nasser said about 15 minutes into Scott’s set, things got “really crazy” as people started getting trampled when fans rushed the stage.
Nasser said he picked up one guy who was on the ground. “People were stepping on him. People were like stomping.”
The youngest victim was identified as a 14-year-old.
Police say 13 people remain hospitalized as of late Sunday night.
About 50,000 people were at the sold-out Astroworld Festival.
Have you ever been in the crowd at a concert or big event where you felt unsafe?

Powell Remembered In Memorial Service

The service was attended by numerous dignitaries, including President Biden, former President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush.

(Washington, DC) — The nation remembers Colin Powell. Powell was eulogized during a memorial service at the Washington National Cathedral. COVID recently claimed Powell’s life at the age of 84. His son Michael noted that his dad was a great leader because he was a great follower. He said Colin Powell believed in sacrificing self in the service of others. Powell was a former secretary of state, a retired general and was the first Black chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright called Powell one of the most gentle and decent people she has ever encountered. She said he was one of the nation’s finest and most loyal soldiers.

Longtime friend and adviser Richard Armitage recalled Powell’s sense of humor and insatiable curiosity and said Powell believed people should be treated with kindness. Reverend Randolph Marshall Hollerith called Powell a great American leader and patriot who always “kept the faith.” Hollerith is the Dean of the National Cathedral. Powell was fully vaccinated against COVID but he had a weakened immune system due to cancer. The service was attended by numerous dignitaries, including President Biden, former President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush.

A juror was removed Thursday for telling a deputy an inappropriate joke connected to the trial. There are now 18 jurors hearing testimony and 12 will be selected for deliberations. Does it depend on who you talk to?

Black women in the workplace.  Why do some people think they’re hard to work with?  Are they passionate or angry?  Expressive or obtuse?  Defensive or pointed?  Are any of these descriptions true or does it depend on who you talk to?

Jury Selection Done In Trial Of Ahmaud Arbery’s Accused Killers

Judge Timothy Walmsley did say yesterday that the court believes there appears to have been “intentional discrimination” in the selection of the jurors.

(Brunswick, GA) — Jury selection is complete in the trial of three white men accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia. The 25-year-old unarmed Black man was shot to death while out for a jog in Brunswick last year. Eleven members of the members are white, and only one Black juror was selected. While he’s agreed to let opening statements go on tomorrow, Judge Timothy Walmsley did say yesterday that the court believes there appears to have been “intentional discrimination” in the selection of the jurors.
