Trump Atlantic City Casino Demolished

Former Trump casino where stars played goes out with a bang.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — A spot on the Atlantic City Boardwalk where movie stars, athletes and rock stars used to party and a future president honed his instincts for bravado and hype has been reduced to a dusty pile of rubble. The former Trump Plaza casino was imploded Wednesday morning after falling into such disrepair that chunks of the building began peeling off and crashing to the ground. And the one-time jewel of former President Donald Trump’s casino empire is now gone, clearing the way for a prime development opportunity on the middle of the Boardwalk, where the Plaza used to market itself as “Atlantic City’s centerpiece.”

Democrat Rep. Sues Trump Over Capitol Attack

Dem’s lawsuit accuses Trump of inciting deadly Capitol riot

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House Homeland Security chairman has sued Donald Trump, accusing him of inciting the deadly insurrection at the Capitol. Democrat Bennie Thompson alleges that Trump conspired with members of far-right extremist groups to try to prevent Congress from certifying the presidential election results.  The federal court lawsuit is part of an expected wave of litigation over the riot and is believed to be the first filed by a member of Congress. It was filed under a Reconstruction-era law known as the Ku Klux Klan Act and comes days after Trump was acquitted in an impeachment trial. The suit seeks unspecified punitive and compensatory damages. A Trump adviser says Trump “did not incite” any violence at the Capitol.

Bitcoin Value Soars

Cost of a single Bitcoin exceeds $50,000 for first time

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — After a wild week in which Bitcoin soared to new heights, Bitcoin is crossing the $50,000 mark. Bitcoin rallied last week as more companies signaled the volatile digital currency could eventually gain widespread acceptance as a means of payment for goods and services. Bitcoin has been mostly seen as a store of value, like gold, with some limited merchants accepting it for payment. Last Monday, Elon Musk’s electric car company, Tesla, announced that it would soon accept it as payment for its high-end cars. But analysts predict a slow evolution toward widespread usage. Bitcoin, which is up almost 200% in just the past three months, is up again Tuesday.

**BREAKING NEWS** SENATE ACQUITS DONALD TRUMP

The vote will give the former president an historic second acquittal in an impeachment trial.

By a vote of 57 to 43, the United States Senate has voted to acquit former President Donald John Trump during the second impeachment trial.  Seven Republicans voted  guilty with all 50 Democrats.

The vote will give the former president an historic second acquittal in an impeachment trial.

House Democrats, who voted a month ago to charge Trump with “incitement of insurrection,” needed two thirds of the Senate, or 67 votes, to convict him.

The Democrats argued in the short trial that Trump caused the violent attack by repeating for months the false claims that the election was stolen from him, and then telling his supporters gathered near the White House that morning to “fight like hell” to overturn his defeat. Five people died when they then laid siege to the Capitol.

Trump’s lawyers argued that the rioters acted on their own accord and that he was protected by freedom of speech, an argument that resonated with most Republicans. They said the case was brought on by Democrats’ “hatred” of Trump.

Trump Lawyers Wrap Up Case

They presented video montages of Democrats calling on supporters to “fight” for various political causes.

(Washington, DC) — Attorneys for former President Trump are wrapping up their case in Trump’s second impeachment trial. Throughout the day, the attorneys argued Trump’s speech at a rally ahead of the January 6th riot was protected under the First Amendment. They presented video montages of Democrats calling on supporters to “fight” for various political causes, in the hopes to prove that the use of the word is not necessarily a means to incite violence. House impeachment managers argued Trump incited the deadly riot at the Capitol.

Impeachment Managers Go After Trump 1st Amendment Claims

Maryland Democrat Jamie Raskin called the First Amendment defense a smokescreen.

(Washington, DC) — House impeachment managers are going after First Amendment claims in the Senate trial of former President Trump. Colorado Democrat Joe Neguse said free speech arguments are a distraction. He stressed Trump wasn’t just “some guy at a rally” offering controversial opinions. A single House article of impeachment accuses Trump of inciting the violent and deadly attack at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. Trump headlined a huge rally near the White House before the Capitol assault. Neguse said Trump “struck a match” and aimed it at the Capitol. Maryland Democrat Jamie Raskin called the First Amendment defense a smokescreen.

Facebook Building Their Own Version of Clubhouse?

This won’t be the first time Facebook copied an idea.
Facebook, who owns Instagram, copied Snapchat by creating Instagram Stories.
What do you think of a Facebook version of Clubhouse?

Clubhouse is the newest and latest app that is all the rage.
It is an audio only iOS app that is invite-only.
You literally have to know someone AND have an iPhone in order to log in to Clubhouse.
Celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Elon Musk and Kevin Hart have been known to hang out on Clubhouse.
They have “rooms” based on various topics and you can either just listen or if you know the person moderating the room you might be “called to the stage” to participate.
It looks like Facebook is looking to copy the Clubhouse idea.

‘I Get Better Sleep’: The People Who Quit Social Media

Have you considered giving up social media? Have you given up social media? How did it affect your life?

Have you ever thought about giving up social media or even more drastic, giving up your smartphone? Several people have and those who have quit social media report they are living better lives.

“I get better sleep. My attention span, I think, is great…” said Morgan Richardson, 30, a nurse in a Covid unit in Los Angeles.

Brian Markowski, 39, a cybersecurity expert says he gave up on all social media because he felt he wasn’t living, “You’re happier as you walk away. My mental health has actually never been better,” says Markowski.

21-year-old Aden Capps went from having an iPhone 6 to a flip phone after realizing that dating without social media felt truer. “Instagram and girls were in a similar part of my brain, and Instagram was the vehicle to reach out to girls. “Likes” and comments were really significant. It was horrible because the ambiguity of a comment or a “like” is just capable of tormenting people.”

Rihanna Shutting Down the Fenty Fashion House

The Fenty fashion platforms are expected to go dark in the upcoming weeks.

The lights are being turned out at Rihanna’s Fenty Fashion House. LVMH or Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, as it’s known made the announcement in a statement stating: “Rihanna and LVMH have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions.”

LVMH will concentrate on Rihanna’s growing skincare brand, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin as well as her lingerie line, Savage x Fenty.

The brand had stopped posting on their Instagram page as of January 1st with the last launch back in November 2020 when they released nail-heeled footwear in collaboration with Amina Muaddi.

The Fenty fashion platforms are expected to go dark in the upcoming weeks.

Do you think this is a good move for Rihanna? It’s expected that LVMH will expand Rihanna’s lingerie line to athleticwear which would compete with Beyonce’s Ivy Park, do you think this is a good or bad thing?
