Governors in Utah, New Hampshire, Ohio, and Pennsylvania all have ordered the removal of Russian vodka from store shelves in their states.
“Utah stands in solidarity with Ukraine and will not support Russian enterprises, no matter how small the exchange,” said Utah Governor Spencer Cox.
While many brands of vodka may have Russian names a majority of them aren’t manufactured in Russia.

Dame Dash Isn’t Opposed to A Roc-A-Fella Biopic, On His Terms
Dame Dash, entrepreneur and record label executive for Roc-A-Fella alongside Jay-Z and Kareem Burke, is open to the idea of a Roc-A-Fella biopic.

Dame Dash, entrepreneur and record label executive for Roc-A-Fella alongside Jay-Z and Kareem Burke, is open to the idea of a Roc-A-Fella biopic.
After the release of Coodie & Chike’s docu-series ‘Jeen-Yuhs’ about the rise of rapper Kanye West’s career, Dame Dash is highly sought after for his reaction to the Netflix series. The first two episodes of the docu-series chronicle West’s hustle to be a signed rapper at Roc-A-Fella, Dash was the executive to do so eventually in 2002.
In a recent interview with theJasmineBRAND, Dash revealed that the biopic about the label would have to be done on his terms.
“There’s a time and a place for everything,” The executive said. “So, if the time and the place is a place I don’t own and a time that I don’t enjoy, then I’m not doing it. But on my terms, I’m gonna do everything. But it’s got to be on my terms or it doesn’t get done.” Dash says plainly. He also added that the actor who plays him must be “superiorly cool.”

The actor, widely known for his role as Dre Johnson in ABC’s ‘Black-ish’, Anthony Anderson will graduate this Spring from Howard University, and the good news only gets sweeter! Anthony Anderson will graduate alongside his son, Nathan Anderson.
In 2018, during an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Anderson explained the reason for his dropping out of college initially. “I was paying for college myself, and I ran out of money after my Junior year,” Anderson told Fallon.
On The Real talk show earlier this week, Anthony Anderson spoke to Loni Love and Garcelle Beauvais about how close he is to being an alumni of Howard University. Loni posed the question, “Anthony, you’ve talked over the years about wanting to graduate from Howard University after you withdrew when you were younger. Well, you’re 15 credits away from getting your degree. Are you going to finish or what?” To which Anderson replied, “I am going to finish this Spring.”

There is a rumor Idris is in talks with Jay-Z, Popcaan, Tinie Tempah to do music.
While it does not look likely that he will do music for the Luther movie, the source says he is in studio sessions between shooting the movie.
Who would you like to hear Idris do a song with?
She said it was a body of work with no soul and she was working more on it.
In a recent interview she said, I’ve put my foot down. I’m going to finally lock in to record this album.
She said the album will definitely land on DSPs before the Summer.

This year’s 12-hour radiothon Sunday, February 27th took in over $92,000 from generous WHUR listeners who gave on line at www.whur.com and those who stopped by or near the radio station to drop off cash and checks with the Howard University student bucket brigade. “Time and time again we see our listeners respond to the call to give in such an unselfish way. These donated dollars will go a long way to get the Howard students to the various locations so they can help communities in crisis,” said WHUR General Manager Sean Plater.
Now in its 28th year, through ASB, Howard students are immersed in unique cultures that provide immediate assistance to those in need and enables the students to reflect on the challenges prevalent in distressed communities around the world. “It really is a labor of love for us. We get to really help those in need and in return we gain valuable life experiences,” said Inez Jacobs Hinton, a senior at Howard who is heading up the students headed to Puerto Rico.
Thousands of Howard students have participated in Alternative Spring Break (ASB) and utilized the spring break to tutor youth, rebuild homes, repair community gathering places, provide legal assistance, and provide disaster recovery relief.
Howard University Spring Break 2022 is Saturday, March 5th through Saturday, March 12th. Students will head to Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, El Paso, Las Vegas, Newark, Memphis, Bronx, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Oakland, Philadelphia, San Juan, and St. Louis.
Usher is returning to Las Vegas for another residency.
He previously did 20 shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Now, he is headed to Dolby Live inside the Park MGM in Vegas.
About returning to Vegas Usher said, I felt like it actually ended before I wanted it to.
So I just took my time and figured out where I could go that I felt would really support my type of show and shock my audience again.
Have you gone to Vegas to see a show? What show and how was it?

Ketanji Brown-Jackson Nominated to U.S. Supreme Court
What might her confirmation to the Supreme Court ultimately mean?
History unfolding today right before our eyes. Ketanji Brown-Jackson… nominated for the U.S. Supreme Court. In little more than a month she could be the first Black woman to sit on the highest court in the land. Who is she? How did she get here? What might her confirmation to the Supreme Court ultimately mean?

Biden Nominates First Black Woman to Supreme Court
Federal appeals court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson would replace liberal Justice Stephen Breyer, 83, who is retiring at the end of the term this summer.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden on Friday nominated federal appeals court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, the first Black woman selected to serve on a court that once declared her race unworthy of citizenship and endorsed American segregation.
Introducing Jackson at the White House, Biden declared, “I believe it’s time that we have a court that reflects the full talents and greatness of our nation.”

With his nominee standing alongside, the president praised her as having “a pragmatic understanding that the law must work for the American people.” He said, “She strives to be fair, to get it right, to do justice.”
In Jackson, Biden delivered on a campaign promise to make the historic appointment and further diversify a court that was made up entirely of white men for almost two centuries. to Supreme Court
He also chose an attorney who would be the high court’s first former public defender, though she possesses the elite legal background of other justices as well.
Jackson would be the current court’s second Black member — Clarence Thomas, a conservative, is the other — and just the third in history. She would replace liberal Justice Stephen Breyer, 83, who is retiring at the end of the term this summer, so she won’t change the court’s 6-3 conservative majority.
Jackson would join the court as it weighs cutbacks to abortion rights and will be considering ending affirmative action in college admissions and restricting voting rights efforts to increase minority representation.
She would be only the sixth woman to serve on the court, but she would join three others already there, including the first Latina, Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
In brief remarks, Jackson thanked Biden, saying she was “humbled by the extraordinary honor of this nomination.” She highlighted her family’s first-hand experience with the entirety of the legal system, as judges and lawyers, an uncle who was Miami’s police chief and another who was imprisoned on drug charges.
She also spoke of the historic nature of her nomination, noting she shared a birthday with Constance Baker Motley, the first Black woman to be confirmed to the federal bench.
“If I’m fortunate enough to be confirmed as the next associate justice of the Supreme Court United States, I can only hope that my life and career, my love of this country and the Constitution, and my commitment to upholding the rule of law and the sacred principles upon which this great nation was founded, will inspire future generations of Americans,” she said.
Jackson, 51, once worked as one of Breyer’s law clerks early in her legal career. She attended Harvard as an undergraduate and for law school, and served on the U.S. Sentencing Commission, the agency that develops federal sentencing policy, before becoming a federal judge in 2013.
Her nomination is subject to confirmation by the Senate, where Democrats hold the majority by a razor-thin 50-50 margin with Vice President Kamala Harris as the tie-breaker. Party leaders have promised swift but deliberate consideration.
Friday’s ceremony was attended only by White House staff, Jackson’s family and news media, in part because the Senate is out of session this week.
Everyone wore masks because of the pandemic, Biden and Jackson removing theirs to speak. He bent to pull out a lectern step for her to stand on as she made her remarks.
Her introduction came two years to the day after Biden, then struggling to capture the Democratic presidential nomination, pledged in a South Carolina debate to nominate a Black woman if presented with a vacancy.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin said in a statement that the panel will “begin immediately” to move forward on consideration of an “extraordinary nominee.” Senators have set a tentative goal of confirmation by April 8, when they leave for a two-week spring recess. Hearings could start as soon as mid-March.
HU Alum Karen Malina White Promotes ‘Proud Family’ Reboot In Recent Interview
Karen Malina White, you may remember from the 90s as Charmaine Brown in the hit sitcom ‘A Different World’, but did you know she’s a graduate of the real HU, Howard University?
By Brooks Welch
You may remember her as Charmaine Brown in the hit 1980s-90s sitcom ‘A Different World,’ but did you know Karen Malina White is a graduate of the real HU, Howard University? Recently the actress sat down with The Shade Room to promote her revived role in ‘The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,’ as Dijonay Jones, best friend of Penny Proud (voiced by Kyla Pratt).
‘The Proud Family’ is a Disney Original animated series that first aired in 2001. The show was groundbreaking for its authentic representation of Black families, moral lessons, and its ability to handle real topics like cultural and religious differences, poverty, and bullying in a light hearted and funny way.
Along with Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones and Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, the show revives the original voices of almost every main character: Jo Marie Payton as Suga Mama, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby, Aries Spears as Wizard Kelly, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez, and Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey.
New to the series is Keke Palmer and artist “A Boogie” as siblings Maya and KG Leibowitz-Jenkins, Billy Porter and Zachary Quinto as the Leibowitzes, and EJ Johnson as Michael Collins. The theme song, originally recorded by Solange Knowles and Destiny’s Child, has been revamped by R&B singer Joyce Wrice in collaboration with original series composer, songwriter, and producer Kurt Farquhar.
In the recent interview, White shared other roles she’d love to revive besides Dijonay. “I’m a Howard [Howard University] girl,” she said. “We have the vice president, who is also a Bison. There’s just been a really great resurgence in terms of really giving HBCUs their due. I think it would be a perfect time to have ‘A Different World,’ reboot.

R&B Singer Keke Wyatt is expecting a new baby, a “plus one” to her 10 children, making 11!
Wyatt announced the exciting news on Instagram earlier this week with the caption, “My husband, Zackariah David Darring and I are proud to announce that our family will be adding a “plus 1” to the Wyatt Bunch! #Baby11”

The reactions were congratulatory and some humorous, like a tweet from Chad Johnson, former NFL player and father to eight, below:

In recent interview with Us Weekly, Wyatt seemed to be open to another child after her eleventh. “Well, my hunnie, [Zackariah Darring], can wear a [‘Last One’] shirt all he wants (referring to recent photo), [but] I have learned never say never. So we shall see,” the recording artist said.
According to CNN, Wyatt was a teen when she hit stardom. Her first major song was a duet with Avant “My First Love,” which was a cover of a 1983 hit song by René and Angela. Wyatt was also a cast member on TV One reality show “R&B Divas: Atlanta.”
‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ Actor Casted As Jean-Michel Basquiat

Canadian actor Stephan James, widely known for his role in ‘If Beale Street Could Talk,’ will produce and become legendary artist Jean-Michel Basquiat in the upcoming biographical TV series.
The 28 year-old actor will play the legendary Black artist in a limited TV drama set in 1980s New York, where Basquiat grew in prominence. According to Screen Rant, the series will follow the rise of Basquiat’s career from graffiti artist “SAMO” to famous painter, whose work now sells for millions of dollars.
Basquiat was a Haitian-Puerto Rican American neo-expressionist painter, known for the crowns, words, symbols, and stick figures in his artwork. He was a known friend and collaborator of artist Andy Warhol. Basquiat was only 28 years old when he passed in 1988.
James recently told Deadline, “Jean-Michel is an artist I have long revered, and someone who has greatly influenced my work over the years. To embody such a revolutionary, whose influence in the modern era of pop culture is simply immeasurable, will simply be one of the greatest honors of my career.”
James and Shamier Anderson (Stowaway, Invasion) co-founded Bay Mills Studios in 2021, which will co-produce the series along with Boat Rocker Studios.

Knight is credited for finding the Jackson 5 and considered herself an “older sister,” to Jackson.
Knight says her family and Michael’s were close, from his parents and Knight’s mother to her children and Michael’s kids. The “Heard It Through The Grapevine,” recalled Jackson asking her, how to make a family.
“I said, Michael, you’ll be able to have one, it’s got to be in your spirit,” Knight recalled. “You’ve got to calm yourself down. It’s who you love, that’s what it is.”
What do you think Michael Jackson would think of today’s society?
It is titled, Exposing Parchman named after the notorious Parchman Prison in Mississippi.

Songs from her chart-topping album, “Still Over It,” won’t make it to the setlist and Summer explained the reason during a recent show in Atlanta.
“I write a lot of my stuff. I write most of my stuff and it’s still a fresh wound. My baby, she not even 1 yet and I ain’t got time to be singing that s**t, crying in front of y’all. So, I sang what I could and I hope that y’all still enjoy the show.”
Songs you’ll miss during Summer’s stage performance include “Reciprocate,” “Throw It Away,” and “Session 33,” which Summer says “still feel like fresh wounds.”
Are there songs you can’t listen to?
Da Brat was walked down the aisle by long-time friend and collaborator, Jermaine Dupri, while Dupart was walked by her father.

Biden Says Putin ‘Chose’ War
Biden hits Russia with new sanctions.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden ordered broad new sanctions targeting Russia on Thursday after its invasion of Ukraine, declaring that Russian leader Vladimir Putin “chose this war” and his country will bear the consequences.

The sanctions target Russian banks, oligarchs and high-tech sectors, Biden said. The United States and its allies will block assets of four large Russian banks, impose export controls and sanction oligarchs.
Biden also said the U.S. will be deploying additional forces to Germany to bolster NATO after the invasion of Ukraine, which is not a member of the defense organization. Approximately 7,000 additional U.S. troops will be sent.
The penalties fall in line with the White House’s insistence that it would hit Russia’s financial system and Putin’s inner circle, while also imposing export controls that would aim to starve Russia’s industries and military of U.S. semiconductors and other high-tech products.
Russia Attacks Ukraine; Peace In Europe Shattered
President Vladimir Putin ignored global condemnation and cascading new sanctions.
KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Thursday, unleashing airstrikes on cities and military bases and sending troops and tanks from multiple directions in a move that could rewrite the world’s geopolitical landscape. Ukraine’s government pleaded for help as civilians piled into trains and cars to flee.

President Vladimir Putin ignored global condemnation and cascading new sanctions as he unleashed the largest ground war in Europe in decades, and chillingly referred to his country’s nuclear arsenal. He threatened any country trying to interfere with “consequences you have never seen.”

Idris Elba, English actor in HBO’s ‘The Wire’ and Nelson Mandela in ‘Mandela: A Long Walk to Freedom’, will now focus on his music career.
Elba has not only depicted a DJ in Netflix series ‘Turn Up Charlie,’ but he served as DJ for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception and performed at Coachella in 2019.
In a recent Vanity Fair interview, Elba told the publication that he wants to “lean away” from acting. “Some may think, ‘Well, it will be the death of your acting if your music’s s—t.’ I’ve dealt with the internal struggle of that over the years, so now I’m at peace and I’ve chosen: This is what I’m doing, and I’m going to do it. Some will love it and some will hate it.”

Debmar-Mercury announced her show will be replaced with Sherri hosted by Sherri Shepherd in the Fall.
The Wendy Williams Show will end at the conclusion of the 13th season in June.
In a statement issued by her rep Howard Bragman he said, Wendy is incredibly grateful to Debmar-Mercury, to Sherri and everybody else who has supported the show through this time. She more than anyone understands the reality of syndicated television-you can’t go to the marketplace and sell a show that’s The Maybe Wendy Show.
It concluded with, should her health get to a point where she can host again and should her desire be that she hosts again that she would be back on TV at that time.
What do you think Wendy’s next move should be? Podcasting? Back to radio?
It was also the 75th anniversary of the NBA so all the NBA stars past and present were on hand.
Michael Jordan was there and took a photo with Vanessa Bryant and Mary J. Blige.
But that’s not what the internet is talking about.
https://youtu.be/2zaVVb1qNj0
They are talking about the video of Michael Jordan happy and hugging Mary J Blige and his hand slowly slipping down her back as he pats her.
In the video you see LeBron James peeking like little brother looking at the two.
Do you think it was a harmless pat and due to the big height difference his hand slipped ‘down’ or do you think Jordan was about to risk it all for the Queen?

In an interview last year with Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier, Michelle Obama shared her delight with Davis playing her in the Showtime Series. “She’s the greatest,” Obama puts simply, “I feel that I’m not worthy. It’s exciting and anything Viola does, she does it with passion and vigor, and I know that she will do no less for this role.”
