Tensions rose between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Trump today.
From Snoop Dogg to Vivica Fox, people are outraged with how Gayle King spoke on the late Kobe Bryant.
CBS This Morning host, Gayle King, interviewed former WNBA star Lisa Leslie on the passing of Kobe Bryant. During the interview King brought up the subject of the rape case that was brought against Bryant in 2003.
.@WNBA legend @LisaLeslie told @GayleKing that Kobe Bryant's legacy is "not complicated" for her despite his 2003 rape accusation.
"I don't think it's something that we should keep hanging over his legacy." https://t.co/qj6MVvOaqX pic.twitter.com/9qtVORobLO
— CBS Mornings (@CBSMornings) February 4, 2020
King asked question’s such as ” It’s been said that his legacy is complicated, because of a sexual assault charge that was dismissed in 2003, 2004. Is it complicated for you, as a woman, as a WNBA player?”
Leslie who was a close friend of Bryant’s denied any wrong doing on Bryant’s part, stating, “It’s not complicated for me at all … I just never see — have ever seen him being the kind of person that would be — do something to violate a woman or be aggressive in that way. That’s just not the person that I know.”
When the clip of the video was released online, supporters of the late Bryant were outraged with King for trying to “tarnish” the former NBA legend’s name. Snoop Dogg, Boosie BadAzz and Vivica Fox notably spoke out against the reporter.
King responded to the backlash this morning in a Twitter video. She stated she hadn’t even seen the clip until people started commenting on it. She also expressed her anger with CBS for taking the clip out of context.

“I’ve been up reading the comments about the interview I did with Lisa Leslie about Kobe Bryant,” said King. “And I know that if I had only seen the clip that you saw, I’d be extremely angry with me too. I am mortified. I am embarrassed and I am very angry. Unbeknownst to me, my network put up a clip from a very wide-ranging interview — totally taken out of context — and when you see it that way, it’s very jarring. It’s jarring to me. I didn’t even know anything about it.”
King says she too had a friendly relationship with Bryant and no disrespect was intended by the interview.

Azriel Clary recently separated from singer R. Kelly, who’s currently in prison. After allegedly spending years captive and under his control, Clary is speaking out.
According to TMZ, “the first things she wants to dive into includes working with non-profit organizations that help protect.” One of these organizations is called Team Truth that is focused on, “Bridging the communication gap between positive authority figures and minors… taking the power of silence away from those whose intent is to do our children harm.”
Clary reportedly would also like to focus primarily on African American women. TMZ states, “She’s planning on starting her own foundation dedicated to helping abused women take back control of their lives.”
Currently, Clary is slowly easing her way back into the music industry and may one day showcase her talents on her potential YouTube Channel, “On the Run with Azriel.”
Clary is officially cooperating with the feds on their case against R. Kelly, as she is continuing to repair her life, one day at a time.

The actor — who won the Golden Globe, SAG and is predicted to win the Oscar for “Joker” — began his speech by saying he felt “conflicted” accepting the award.
“I feel very honored and privileged to be here tonight and BAFTA has always been very supportive of my career, and I am deeply appreciative,” he began, adding, “But I have to say that I also feel conflicted because so many of my fellow actors that are deserving don’t have that same privilege.”
“I think that we send a very clear message to people of color that you are not welcome here,” Phoenix continued. “I think that is the message that we are sending to people that have contributed so much to our medium and our industry — and in ways that we benefit from.”
“I don’t think anybody wants a handout or a preferential treatment, although that is what we give ourselves every year,” he added. “I think that people just want to be acknowledged and appreciated and respected for their work.”

Taxpayers are warned to review all documents before submitting taxes.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is warning taxpayers to look out for ‘ghost’ tax return preparers. A ghost preparer is someone who print tax returns but refuse to sign the tax return they have prepared with electronically and physically.
Ghost tax preparers may promise a bigger return that seem tempting but taxpayers are warned to steer clear. “They may invent income so that you qualify for tax credits, they may claim fake deductions so that you qualify for a larger refund,”said IRS spokesperson Michael Devine.
According to the IRS this can move into tax fraud and cause real issues for those involved.
“Taxpayers should verify both their routing and bank account number on the completed tax return for any direct deposit refund. And taxpayers should watch out for ghost preparers inserting their bank account information onto the returns.,” says the IRS.
The deadline to file taxes is April 15.

When it first premiered, The Color Purple gained 11 Academy Award nominations and grossed $142 million after a $15 million budget. Goldberg was nominated for and won a Golden Globe for her role.
Winfrey has helped the legacy of the film live on when she and Broadway producers created a Broadway musical based on the film. The songs were written by Earth, Wind & Fire and Fantasia made her Broadway debut on the stage. The show closed in 2008 but was revived in 2015 starring Jennifer Hudson and Orange is the New Black’s Danielle C. Brooks.

Jay-Z’s response was that he still supports protesting, kneeling and Kaepernick, but he’s also interested in working with the league to make substantial changes.
Video of Beyoncé and Jay-Z sitting while Demi Lovato sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl has surfaced online.
TMZ posted the video Sunday of the celebrity couple sitting along with daughter Blue Ivy at Hard Rock Stadium, where the San Francisco 49ers were playing the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jay-Z, a co-producer of the halftime show featuring Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, announced his Roc Nation company had entered a partnership with the NFL for events and social activism last year. The rapper received immediate backlash since he had become one of the biggest supporters of Colin Kaepernick, who sparked a fissure in the NFL when he decided to kneel when the national anthem was played before games to protest the killings of blacks by police officers.
Jay-Z’s response was that he still supports protesting, kneeling and Kaepernick, but he’s also interested in working with the league to make substantial changes.
Representatives for Jay-Z and Beyoncé didn’t immediately reply to emails seeking comment.

“We never lost faith,” Mahomes said. “That’s the biggest thing. Everybody on this team, no one had their head down. We believed in each other. That’s what we preached all year long.”
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes needed just the waning minutes of Super Bowl 54 to end a whole lot of frustration.
A championship 50 years in the making for the Kansas City Chiefs.
A two-decade wait for an NFL title for coach Andy Reid.
All it took was falling behind by double digits in the postseason, again. Then Mahomes found his mojo. The 24-year-old quarterback who was selected Super Bowl MVP, led the Chiefs to 21 straight points in the final 6:13 for a 31-20 victory Sunday over the San Francisco 49ers.

The Chiefs (15-4) trailed 24-0 and 17-7 in their previous playoff games, both in the first half. In the big game, they nearly didn’t have time for a comeback.
Kansas City’s fans in the crowd of 62,417 at Hard Rock Stadium got little opportunity to chant and do the tomahawk chop as KC fell behind 20-10 in the third quarter. Mahomes even threw his second interception of the night after they fell behind.
But the vaunted 49ers defense wilted late and Mahomes brought the magic that makes him so special.
He completed passes of 44 yards to Tyreek Hill and 38 to Sammy Watkins. The touchdowns came on short throws to Travis Kelce to cut the deficit to three and to Damien Williams for the lead. The first NFL title in Reid’s two-decade career was clinched by Williams’ 38-yard TD run, sending red-clad Chiefs fans into chants of “Andy!” Andy!”
Reid, 61, won a Super Bowl ring with the 1996 Packers while in charge of tight ends. He’s been seeking one as a head coach since being hired by Philadelphia in 1999. The Eagles lost in their only trip to the big game under Reid after the 2004 season.
“This is what it’s all about,” Reid said as confetti fell and the Chiefs celebrated the climax of the NFL’s 100th season. “What a great team, great coaches. Appreciate every bit of it.”
Mahomes found Hill, whose bobble led to the second San Francisco pick, for 44 yards on a third-and-15 — the first long pass completed by Kansas City. A 20-yard pass interference call on Tarvarius Moore, who had that earlier pick, put the ball at the 1 and Kelce was wide open for the score.

The Chiefs defense, confounded by the Niners’ misdirection much of the game, got stingy and forced a three-and-out. Mahomes soon hit Watkins down the right sideline behind Richard Sherman for a 38-yard gain, leading to Williams’ first score.
San Francisco (15-4) had nothing left in the fourth quarter, and its coach, Kyle Shanahan saw yet another late-game meltdown by his team. Three years ago, as offensive coordinator in Atlanta, he was part of the Falcons’ Super Bowl collapse and loss in overtime to New England.
“We’ll lick our wounds and we’ll get over this,” Shanahan said.
Kansas City, an original AFL franchise, won the final Super Bowl before the full merger, beating Minnesota in 1970. Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt even coined the phrase Super Bowl.
Now the Hunt family can add a Vince Lombardi Trophy to the Lamar Hunt Trophy earned with the AFC crown.
“It’s a beautiful trophy,” Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said. “I’m so happy for our players, coaches and fans. And especially Andy Reid. Nobody deserves this trophy more than Andy Reid.”
San Francisco went 4-12 in 2018 and Shanahan was on something of a hot seat this season. He came close to a ring once again, but down the stretch the Niners couldn’t slow the no-huddle attack at which Mahomes, Hill, Kelce, Williams and all the other Chiefs excel.
“We have heart,” Mahomes said. “We never give up and those guys around us, the leaders on the team , have that mindset that we never give up.”
The fourth quarter fireworks by the Chiefs were along the lines of the expected offensive explosion. Earlier, there were some strong drives but not a lot of huge plays.
After a tribute during the pregame ceremony to basketball superstar Kobe Bryant, who died a week ago in a helicpoter crash along with eight others, and Pro Football Hall of Famer Chris Doleman, who died Tuesday night of brain cancer, the 49ers used up nearly six minutes on their opening drive, yet got only Robbie Gould’s 38-yard field goal. Kansas City took up 7:26 for its next march, including a fourth-and-1 run by Williams on a direct snap to the 49ers 1. All four Chiefs in the backfield spun around before the snap.
Mahomes took it in to end the 15-play series on a run option.
The 7-3 deficit was the first for San Francisco since Game 15. It soon became 10-3 after Jimmy Garoppolo’s ill-advised lob under pressure was intercepted by Bashaud Breeland. Another fourth-down gamble paid off for KC, with Williams gaining 3 on a pitchout. But the Chiefs stalled and Harrison Butker kicked a 31-yard field goal.
San Francisco needed a spark and, as it often has this season, the running game provided it. Gouging the Chiefs in the trenches, the 49ers gained 53 yards on five straight rushes before Garoppolo hit on a pair of passes. The second completion, over the middle to Kyle Juszczyk, saw the fullback look like anything but with a nifty open-field move past safety Daniel Sorensen — perhaps Kansas City’s best tackle. J uszczyk surged into the end zone for a 15-yard TD to tie it at 10.
Once more, Garoppolo was brilliant on a drive after being picked off. He improved 39 for 42 for 461 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions with a 136.2 rating on such series after the TD.
Gould’s 42-yarder gave the Niners their first lead, capping the opening drive of the second half. Again, their misdirection plays kept the Chiefs off-balance on defense.
As Garoppolo did in the first half, Mahomes then threw into heavy coverage trying to hit Hill and was picked by Fred Warner. It was the first interception of Mahomes in five postseason games.
And it paid off with another efficient series for the Niners, keyed by a 26-yard completion to Kendrick Bourne on third down. Raheem Mostert, the star of the NFC title game, surged in from the 1 for a 20-10 edge.
Hardly unfamiliar territory for Kansas City.
“We have an ability as a team not just on offense, as team, to figure out what the other team is doing and put our foot in the ground and say enough is enough,” Kelce said. “It’s special.”

She helped to organize what is now known as The Office of African Affairs in D.C., a government agency to serve Africans in the Diaspora.
She served as the chair of the Citizen Advisory Council for the Department of Corrections, while also preparing inmates for a successful entry into federal prisons and re-entry into the community. Since 2003, Lloyd has maintained her weekly trips to the jail, where she services all populations and is well known for her unique gift of transformation through Life Coaching and; impacting men and women, at the same time, aiding families and children of those incarcerated. Moreover, Saymendy is known to calm units of uncontrolled men, preparing inmates for sentencing and is highly respected by judges and lawyers alike. In a society where people will not likely open their doors to ex-offenders due to fear, Saymendy provides a welcoming relief in a home without a grant to house returning citizens upon their release from jail or prison who has no place to go, but, have shown to be ready for a change and in need of the necessities of life.
She also started Tiding and Joy, a Christmas party for children of incarcerated parents who are victims of conditions beyond their control at the result of their parent/parents incarceration; while also working with family members to aid in the reduction of crime and the recidivism rate. With just 56 kids, the party was organized years ago, today over 600 are served each year.

Report: Bolton Book Claims Trump Directed Him To Call Zelensky

The man accused of drawing up a hit list against prominent politicians and journalists to be sentenced today.
Christopher Hasson, 50, faces a maximum of 31 years in prison at sentencing by U.S. District Judge George Hazel. He pleaded guilty in October to possessing unregistered and unserialized silencers, being a drug addict in possession of firearms and illegal possession of tramadol, an opioid painkiller.
Federal prosecutors recommended a 25-year prison sentence for Hasson. They have called him a domestic terrorist and self-described white nationalist who was intent on carrying out mass killings. But they didn’t file any terrorism-related charges against him.
Defense attorneys urged Hazel to spare Hasson from a prison term and sentence him to jail time served since his February 2019 arrest. Hasson’s lawyers accused Justice Department prosecutors of fabricating a bogus narrative that the married father of two grown children was planning a terrorist attack.
After Hasson’s arrest, prosecutors filed a memo in which they said the Coast Guard officer “intends to murder innocent civilians on a scale rarely seen in this country.” They also said Hasson drafted and tried to delete a June 2017 email in which he wrote that he was “dreaming of a way to kill almost every last person on the earth.”
Prosecutors claim Hasson drew up what appeared to be a computer spreadsheet hit list naming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and Democratic presidential hopefuls, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren. He also mentioned several network TV journalists, including MSNBC’s Chris Hayes and Joe Scarborough and CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Van Jones.
Hasson’s attorneys urged the judge to “strip away all of the speculation and rhetoric” and sentence Hasson “proportionately” for the crimes to which he pleaded guilty.
“The government’s unproven claims about his private thoughts and beliefs and its conjecture about his plans and motives have no place in the sentencing courtroom and should have no bearing on the outcome,” they wrote.
Hasson ordered at least 4,650 tramadol pills from internet distributors and had them shipped to his homes in Maryland and Currituck, North Carolina, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Windom. The prosecutor said Hasson consumed most of the pills, often at work.
