DOJ Unseals Trump Indictment, (Link To Document Included)

The DOJ alleges when Trump’s time as president ended, boxes containing classified documents that he was not authorized to keep were transported to his Florida residence.

The United States vs Donald J. Trump DOJ Indictment

(Washington, DC) — The Department of Justice says former President Trump stored classified information including U.S. nuclear programs and defense and weapons capabilities. The DOJ unsealed the federal indictment of Trump a day after he announced he would become the first former President to face federal charges. Trump and his aide Walt Nauta face over three dozen counts in the indictment. The DOJ alleges when Trump’s time as president ended, boxes containing classified documents that he was not authorized to keep were transported to his Florida residence. The indictment also details two incidents in 2021 when Trump showed classified documents to others at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

The indictment also provides pictures of the dozens of boxes the classified documents were allegedly stored in. The DOJ says the boxes were stored in various locations at Mar-a-Lago including a ballroom, a bathroom, a shower, an office space, Trump’s bedroom and a storage room.

Trump Says He’s Been Indicted In Classified Documents Case

Trump said he is due in court Tuesday afternoon in Miami.

MIAMI (AP) — Donald Trump said Tuesday he’s been indicted on charges of mishandling classified documents at his Florida estate, igniting a federal prosecution that is arguably the most perilous of multiple legal threats against the former president as he seeks to reclaim the White House.

The Justice Department did not immediately publicly confirm the indictment.

Trump is currently in Bedminster, New Jersey. A person familiar with the situation who was not authorized to discuss it publicly said Trump’s lawyers were contacted by prosecutors shortly before he announced on his Truth Social platform that he had been indicted.

Trump said he is due in court Tuesday afternoon in Miami.

Black Florida Mother Of Four Fatally Shot By Neighbor Over Her Children Playing

According to Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods in a news conference Monday, a Florida mother was shot in front of her 9-year-old child by a neighbor.

OCALA, Fla.- – According to Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods in a news conference Monday, a Florida mother was shot in front of her 9-year-old child by a neighbor.

Ajike Owens, 35, went to the door of her white female neighbor to address that the woman took her child’s iPad, threw it at him, and cracked the screen.

Police respond to what was labeled as a trespassing call, they found the mother of four suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she died.

“I wish our shooter would have called us instead of taking actions into her own hands,” Woods said. “I wish Ms. Owens would have called us in the hopes we could have never gotten to the point at which we are here today.”

Civil Rights Attorney Benjamin Crump made it clear that the white woman yelled racial slurs at Owen’s children in a prior confrontation,  before shooting and killing their mother.

Attorney Anthony D. Thomas, the family’s attorney said, “We need an arrest.” Thomas continues, “Make no mistake about it. We do support our sheriff. But at the same time, we want him to do the job that he promised that he would do, and we want swift justice.”

The Sheriff did mention that since 2021, deputies responded to over half a dozen calls in regards to a feud. Although the shooter has been identified, no arrest has been made yet.

South Carolina Gas Station Owner Accused of Murdering Black Teen

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said there was no evidence the boy ever pointed the weapon at Chow or his son.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina gas station owner accused of chasing a 14-year-old boy from his store and fatally shooting him in the back will stay behind bars for now after his first court appearance Tuesday on a murder charge in the death.

Rick Chow thought the boy had shoplifted four bottles of water Sunday night from his Xpress Mart Shell station in Columbia, authorities said. But Cyrus Carmack-Belton put the bottles back in the cooler and was off the store’s property and running away when he was killed, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said.

Rick Chow has been charged, Monday, May 29, 2023, with murder in the death of a 14-year-old Cyrus Carmack-Belton.

A gun was found near the teen’s body and Chow’s son, who also was involved in the chase, told his father that Carmack-Belton was armed after the youth fell as he ran, according to the sheriff. But Lott said there was no evidence the boy ever pointed the weapon at Chow or his son.

The Xpress Mart convenience store is seen on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, in Columbia, South Carolina. Richland County deputies said the store owner chased a 14-year-old he thought shoplifted, but didn’t steal anything and fatally shot the teen in the back.

Chow, who had a concealed weapons permit, was charged after an autopsy showed the middle school student was shot in the back and deputies spoke to witnesses and reviewed surveillance and other video, Lott said.

Chow was told his bond could not be set until he goes before a circuit court judge at a later date.

LeBron James Shares Cryptic Jay-Z Quote Fueling Retirement

LeBron James shared a Jay-Z quote on Instagram, causing fans to think he might quit basketball. Rumors of LeBron James retiring started after the Lakers’ 4-0 playoff loss to the Denver Nuggets.

LeBron answered questions about his future in basketball, saying, “We’ll see what happens going forward. I don’t know,” the Lakers star said during postgame interviews. “I’ve got a lot to think about, to be honest. Just for me personally going forward with the game of basketball.”

Tina Turner’s widower is planning to turn her Swiss estate into a museum dedicated to her life and work.

The ‘Simply The Best’ singer, whose death was confirmed last week, bought the 10-building waterfront retreat that overlooks Lake Zurich, with her husband Erwin Bach in 2021.

A Swiss newspaper says it “may now be used to showcase memorabilia from the superstar’s career.” The century-old, 260,000-square-foot property includes a pond, stream, swimming pool, and boat deck.

The late singer, the Tennessee schoolhouse she attended as Anna Mae Bullock called Flagg Grove School became a museum in 2014. According to The Guardian the museum “averaged 35,000 visitors a year before the coronavirus pandemic hit.”

Sonia Outlaw-Clark, the Executive Director, West TN Delta Heritage Center, Tina Turner Museum and Visit Brownsville TN told The Guardian that, “We learned when we were researching the school that her great-uncle – her great-grandfather’s brother – actually built the school and so that made it even more special because not only was it a part of her schooling but it was a part of her family legacy.

No word on when the Swiss home will be opened to the public.

Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” Big Hit for Black Girls

Dozens of little girls in Prince George’s County were among the first to see Disney’s much anticipated remake “The Little Mermaid,” featuring Halle Bailey. They were all smiles and brimming with pride.

Hyattsville, Maryland (Friday, May 26, 2023) – With lots of oohs, ahhs,  and giggles; dozens of young girls Thursday got to be among the first in the DMV to see Disney’s much anticipated “The Little Mermaid.”

The National Black Movie Association (NBMA) hosted a private screening at the Regal Hyattsville Royale Theater for members of the  Crimson Heat Allstars, a Prince George’s County non-profit cheer, dance, and gymnastics group.  The girls, ages 4 to 18-years-old, were dressed in Black to see Halley Bailey bring the Little Mermaid to life on the big screen.  “It was so good.  I liked the singing and when they finally kissed,” said 10-year-old Kayla.

The Association asked all the girls to wear black to show their solidarity for diversity and inclusion efforts in the film industry.  The NBMA is a non-profit organization providing services and programs for Black moviegoers, aspiring filmmakers, and youth.  ‘I was so happy when my mom told me we were going to the movies and she bought me this pretty dress,” said  6-year-old Riley.  “I really really liked Ariel.  She’s so pretty and she sings really good. Plus seeing Ariel swim really fast in the water looked fun and I want to do that too,” added Riley.

“We were thrilled to sponsor a screening for the Crimson Heat Allstars.  These national champion girls have traveled the country earning medals and awards as Black athletes.    Representation in the media and film makes a difference in how our young ladies see themselves and that’s why the National Black Movie Association exists, ” said Founder and President Agnes Moss.

Crimson Heat Allstars Founder and Head Coach Veronica Burton is excited to close out the organization’s 23rd season with the symbolic film, The Little Mermaid. “The movie represents a need to use your voice and to have your voice heard no matter what space you occupy. Crimson Heat trains cheerleaders, but we also build emotionally responsible athletes. Possessing good character and having confidence is equally as important as winning competitions.”

According to Deon Cole, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé can do anything they want with their money, and anyone who has a problem with their new $200 million mansion should try taking notes rather than shots.

TMZ asked Cole about the couple’s recent purchase of a Malibu pad, and he had advice for those who call the purchase excessive.  Deon joked that for $200 million, the couple should have “automatic everything,” including an automatic “butt wiper.”

Designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando, Forbes says the Malibu, California estate is “the most expensive home in California’s history”.

Cole recognizes not everyone is happy about their choice with such a grand purchase, but says people who criticize them for their purchase should “get their life together.”

The couple is known for their many talents and business ventures contributing to their fortunes, from clothing brands to adult beverages. JAY-Z is worth $2.5 billion, and Beyoncé is on track to get a billion from her Renaissance Tour, the singer’s current worth is $500 million.

Traffic Safety, Traffic Violence

What is happening on our roadways?

What is happening on our roadways?  Everyday we’re seeing severe reckless driving.  Safe streets advocates call it “traffic violence”.  Speeding, weaving in and out of traffic, running red lights and stop signs, using shoulders to skirt traffic slowdowns.  And of course these incidents across the DMV frequently end in severe injury or even death.  As we head into the Memorial Day weekend, you can expect more of this and more enforcement.  But… should there be a long term plan?

Tina Turner Dies At 83

Turner died Tuesday, after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland, according to her manager.

NEW YORK (AP) — Tina Turner, the unstoppable singer and stage performer who teamed with husband Ike Turner for a dynamic run of hit records and live shows in the 1960s and ’70s and survived her horrifying marriage to triumph in middle age with the chart-topping “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” has died at 83.

Turner died Tuesday, after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland, according to her manager. She became a Swiss citizen a decade ago.

“She was truly an enormously talented performer and singer,” tweeted Mick Jagger, whom Turner helped in shaping his own dynamic stage presence. “She was inspiring, warm, funny and generous. She helped me so much when I was young and I will never forget her.”

Few stars traveled so far — she was born Anna Mae Bullock in a segregated Tennessee hospital and spent her latter years on a 260,000 square foot estate on Lake Zurich — and overcame so much. Physically battered, emotionally devastated and financially ruined by her 20-year relationship with Ike Turner, she became a superstar on her own in her 40s, at a time when most of her peers were on their way down, and remained a top concert draw for years after.

With admirers ranging from Jagger to Beyoncé to Mariah Carey, Turner was one of the world’s most popular entertainers, known for a core of pop, rock and rhythm and blues favorites: “Proud Mary,” “Nutbush City Limits,” “River Deep, Mountain High,” and the hits she had in the ’80s, among them “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” “We Don’t Need Another Hero” and a cover of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together.”

Her trademarks included a growling contralto that might smolder or explode, her bold smile and strong cheekbones, her palette of wigs and the muscular, quick-stepping legs she did not shy from showing off. She sold more than 150 million records worldwide, won 12 Grammys, was voted along with Ike into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 (and on her own in 2021 ) and was honored at the Kennedy Center in 2005, with Beyoncé and Oprah Winfrey among those praising her. Her life became the basis for a film, a Broadway musical and an HBO documentary in 2021 that she called her public farewell.

{WATCH} First Trailer Drops for The Color Purple 2023

The first trailer for the upcoming musical reimagining of The Color Purple has dropped.

The first trailer for the upcoming musical reimagining of The Color Purple has dropped.

During CinemaCon, Oprah Winfrey said that director Blitz Bazawule‘s version was “not your mama’s Color Purple,” and from the looks of the first trailer, she wasn’t lying!

As producer of The Color Purple, Winfrey went on a detailed search for the best director to be a part of such an iconic film. Bazawule was noted as the fifth or sixth director to head this project. “The bar is so high… But first I read the script and said, ‘I see what [screenwriter] Marcus [Gardley] is trying to do here,’ and of course, I sat with Steven and Oprah and Scott Sanders and the Warner Bros. team, and it was clear they were really going to allow us to expand the canon of ‘The Color Purple,’ which first began with, ‘How do we create an internal headspace for Celie?’”

The film stars Halle Bailey as Nettie, and Fantasia Barrino plays the role of Celie, and the vocals…wow! In the trailer, we see some classic scenes from the 1985 film directed by Steven Spielberg. The film hits theaters on Christmas Day.
