Blinken acknowledged the U.S. has lost some intelligence-gathering capacity without boots on the ground

Blinken called the massive evacuation from the Kabul airport one of the largest and most successful airlifts in history. He vowed to continue efforts to help any American who wants to leave Afghanistan. Not all Americans in the war-torn nation registered with the State Department, so locating them has been challenging. Meantime, Blinken acknowledged the U.S. has lost some intelligence-gathering capacity without boots on the ground. He suggested the U.S. has other ways of determining whether Afghanistan again becomes a haven for terrorists.

While the generation born after the events of September 11th, 2001 thinks it’s important to remember the day and honor the people who died, they don’t want to be bothered with the “gruesome details.”
That’s according to a survey by Campus Reform, which asked students at the University of Florida how they think details of 9/11 should be taught. While a majority of them suggested steering away from graphic accounts of the tragic deaths that occurred, another — perhaps more surprising — common suggestion was to avoid blaming anyone for the attacks, Campus Reform reports. A number of the students pointed to American exceptionalism — the idea that the U.S. is more unique and better than any other country — as one of the causes for the attack, according to the surveyor.
Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which were reportedly masterminded by militant Islamist group al-Qaeda. An estimated 2,996 Americans were killed.
Do people who weren’t around to witness the attacks truly understand what that day was like? What were you doing when you first heard the country was under attack?

The biggest change was the creation of the TSA or Transportation Security Administration which appeared at airports across the nation two months after September 11, 2001.
Three months after the attacks, Richard Reid attempted to board a plane with explosives in his shoes, this ushered in the no shoes are belts as you enter security. Liquids of more than 3.4 ounces also couldn’t go through airport security.
Of course, all the new additions for security have resulted in longer lives, no gate send-offs, airline consolidations, and a greater appreciation of air travel.
What has been the biggest change about travel for you since the 9/11 attacks?

Stoners under the age of 45 are twice as likely to suffer heart attacks than people who don’t indulge.
That’s according to a new study conducted by the World Health Organization, which found adults under 45 who smoked weed in the past 30 days suffered twice as many heart attacks as those who didn’t. While researchers didn’t look into why cannabis increases the chances of a heart attack, a previous study found marijuana can increase a user’s heart rate, according to data published in Tuesday’s edition of the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
Robert Page, chairman of the American Heart Association, says he believes the problem stems from the fact that today’s marijuana is more potent than ever before. “This isn’t what your granddaddy used to smoke at Woodstock; this is highly potent,” Page says.
Have you started using cannabis products since several states legalized them?
