SCOTUS Sides With Gun Owners

(Washington, DC) — The Supreme Court is making a stand on the Second Amendment. In a New York case, the High Court ruled 6-3 that people can carry a handgun for self-defense. The case involved a challenge to whether states can decide who receives a concealed carry license. New York is one of eight states that could deny a permit to anyone if “they have not demonstrated a strong reason to carry a weapon in public.” In a majority conservative opinion, the Court reinforced an individual’s right to keep and bear arms at home for self-defense.

“I’ve been talking to certain individuals for the last six months,” the champ says. “That’s something I’ve been working on behind the scenes, but I’ve never came out and publicly talked about that with the media.”. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Mayweather’s proposed team would be based in Vegas, where he’s fought countless times in his career. However, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver says no one in the league has green-lit a new franchise just yet. “We are not discussing that at this time,” he says. “As I’ve said before, at some point, this league will invariably expand — just not at this moment.”

A woman by the name of Kate took to Twitter to give travelers some advice as many airlines struggle to deal with the high demands of air-travel.

“Flying this summer is ROUGH!!! I feel like as a Flight Attendant I should attempt to share some tips to get you through airline travel for the foreseeable future,” @kateeya_ tweeted.

Here are the some of the tips she recommends below!

  1. If your travel is less than seven hours, drive.
  2. Download and use the airline app to track flight times, baggage, or make changes to your reservation.
  3. Fly much earlier then you need to especially if you have a special event. “This week I saw many people miss important things like weddings, funerals, cruises, and graduations. The tears were very real, for very real reasons, and there was nothing I could do!,” Kate tweeted.
  4. Keep in mind summer is prone to thunderstorms that can delay flights/
  5. Schedule long layovers.

Washington Commanders Congressional Probe

The 29-page memo alleges Snyder tried to discredit the people accusing him and other team executives of misconduct and also tried to influence an investigation.

Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder conducted a “shadow investigation” that sought to discredit former employees making accusations of workplace sexual harassment, hired private investigators to intimidate witnesses, and used an overseas lawsuit as a pretext to obtain phone records and emails, according to a document released by a House committee on Wednesday.

The Committee on Oversight and Reform is investigating the Commanders’ workplace culture following accusations of pervasive sexual harassment by team executives of women employees. It released the memo ahead of a hearing Wednesday in Washington that featured testimony from NFL Commissioner, appearing remotely from New York.

Snyder was invited to testify but declined, citing overseas business commitments and concerns about due process. The committee chairwoman, Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., announced during the hearing that she plans to issue a subpoena to compel a deposition from Snyder next week.

The 29-page memo alleges Snyder tried to discredit the people accusing him and other team executives of misconduct and also tried to influence an investigation of the team conducted for the NFL by attorney Beth Wilkinson’s firm.

Snyder’s attorneys presented the NFL with a 100-slide PowerPoint presentation including “private text messages, emails, phone logs and call transcripts, and social media posts from nearly 50 individuals who Mr. Snyder apparently believed were involved in a conspiracy to disparage him,” the committee said.

In a statement, a spokesman for Snyder characterized the report and the hearing as “a politically charged show trial” and said Congress should not be investigating “an issue a football team addressed years ago.”

Biden Calls For 3-Month Gas Tax Holiday

Posted by WHUR Contributor

President Joe Biden wants to lower gas prices by declaring a ‘gas tax holiday’ for the next three months. He’s urging Congress to approve the plan and “take this step to help American families”. Under the proposal, a federal gas tax of 18 cents per gallon and 24 cents per gallon of diesel would be suspended until September. The average price for a gallon of gas in the U.S. is currently $4.95 per gallon. Will this ‘gas tax holiday’ do enough to bring down gas prices?  Will Congress get on board with Biden’s plan?

Unless you crawled under a rock Tuesday, you know Beyonce’ broke the internet when she released the single “Break My Soul” featuring Big Freedia. It automatically became a fan favorite in the DMV because of its house music vibe. Does it sound a little familiar? If you listen closely, you’ll notice the song samples the Robin S. hit “Show Me Love”. This single is the first single from Bey’s long-awaited seventh album Renaissance.

Hands down, this track has already been deemed a summer anthem because of its infectious beat and empowering lyrics —

I’m ‘bout to explode, take off this load
Bend it, bust it open, won’t ya make it go?
Yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka
Yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka
Release ya wiggle
Yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka
Yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka, yaka
Release your wiggle

You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
I’m telling everybody
Everybody
Everybody
Everybody

Now I just fell in love
And I just quit my job
I’m gonna find new drive
Damn they work me so damn hard
Work by nine
Then off past five
And they work my nerves
That’s why I cannot sleep at night

Motivation
I’m looking for a new foundation, yeah
And I’m on that new vibration
I’m building my own foundation, yeah
Hold up
Oh baby baby baby

You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
I’m telling everybody
Everybody
Everybody
Everybody

Release ya anger, release ya mind
Release ya job, release the time
Release ya trade, release the stress
Release the love, forget the rest

Imma let down my hair
‘Cause I lost my mind
Bey is back and I’m sleeping real good at night
The queens in the front and the doms in the back
Ain’t takin’ no flicks but the whole clique snapped
It’s a whole lot of people in the house
Trying to smoke with the yak in your mouth

And we back outside
You said you outside but you ain’t that outside
Worldwide hoodie with the mask outside
In case you forgot how we act outside

Got motivation
I done found me a new foundation, yeah
And I’m taking my new salvation
And imma build my own foundation, yeah
Ooh baby baby

You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
And I’m telling everybody
Everybody
Everybody
Everybody

If you don’t seek it
You won’t see it
That we all know

If you don’t think it
You won’t be it
That love ain’t yours

Trying to fake it
Never makes it
That we all know

You can have the stress
And not take less
I’ll justify love

We go round in circles
Round in circles
Searching for love
We go up and down
Lost and found
Searching for love

Looking for something that lives inside me
Looking for something that lives inside me

You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul
I’m telling everybody
Telling everybody
Everybody
Everybody

You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul, no, no
You won’t break my soul
You won’t break my soul

And I’m telling everybody
Everybody
Everybody
Everybody

I’m taking my new salvation
And imma build my own foundation, yeah
Got motivation
I done found me a new foundation, yeah
I’m taking my new salvation
And imma build my own foundation, yeah

Is it important to send a message by adding hate crime charges along with murder charges?

The Federal Reserve has hiked interest rates by 0.75% to decrease spending and address inflation. The .075% hike is the highest since 1994, according to Yahoo News.

The Motley Fool has shared some financial advice that you may find helpful right now, when the price of gas and food continues to reach astronomical highs.

“We generally recommend for those who are working to focus on saving 15%-20% of their income. But, if you are retired, we’d generally recommend individuals ensure their withdrawal strategy is sustainable,” The Motley Fool says. They recommend not investing any money in the stock market that you may need in the next 3-5 years.

They do recommend that you connect to a long-term investing approach.

Motley Fool advises paying off high interest debt too: “It’s best to put money where it can earn the highest return. And while the stock market has historically returned about 9%-10% annually over the past century, if you’ve got credit card debt that you are paying 15% interest on, your money is likely going to be better spent paying down that debt rather than buying stocks”

They also advise building an emergency cash fund.

The wait is finally over for the BEYHive as Beyoncé has announced her new album, “Renaissance.” Eagle-eyed fans have been paying close attention to every Beyoncé move since she removed her profile pictures from all social media accounts last Thursday (June 9)  Since then, her BEYGood account posted a tribute to black musicians on Wednesday (June 15) and there was a hand with a red glove pointing at Brandy’s “B7” album cover, signaling that Beyoncé’s seventh studio album was on the way.  Now there has been an album name, a blank tracklist of 16 songs, and a date of release given to fans. Upon the announcement, Tidal and BeyLeigon’s page has posted the message, “Renaissance” “Act i” Fans can expect “Renaissance” to be released on July 29.  What do you think will be the concept of Beyoncé’s new album? Do you think there will be other acts to follow?

Snoop posted several Instagram photos and videos of him showering Shante with gifts at their resort, including personalized cakes, flower arrangements, and bed decorations.
