LeBron James Benched After Incident With Isaiah Stewart

LeBron James Ejected after incident with Isaiah Stewart resulting in a bloody face.

Sunday during the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Detroit Pistons. LeBron James swung at Detroits big man, Isaiah Stewart, with a closed fist, while the two were battling for rebounding position.

Stewart is seen bleeding profusely all over his face, he is visibly angry as he tries to get to James from across the court. All players and fans were reminded of the infamous “Malice at the Palace” incident that happened nearly 17 years ago between the Pistons and the Indiana Pacers.  Fans were urged to stay in their seats and stay off the court to ensure something like that wouldn’t occur again.

The incident took place with 9:18 remaining in the third quarter and the Lakers down by 12. Both were ejected from the game, James for a flagrant foul 2 and Stewart for two technical fouls. Russell Westbrook, Lakers guard, also received a technical foul. According to crew chief Scott Foster, Westbrook received a technical foul because he was “an escalator and not a peacemaker.”

There are different views as to where the hit was intentional or not. ESPN reported, Lakers big man Anthony Davis had this to say about his fellow teammate, “Everyone in the league knows LeBron’s not a dirty guy. In fact, when he knew he hit him, as soon as he did it, he looked back at him like, ‘Oh, my bad. I didn’t try to do it.'”

Predicitons vary on suspension of the players due to the incident, some say based on previous situations James’ may be suspended for 2 or 3 games.

This was James’ second ejection of his 19-year career, the first being during a Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat game back in 2017.

As developed by 50, the show follows the true story of brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory (Demetrius Flenory Jr.) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory (Da’Vinchi).

Jeffrey Hirsch, President, and CEO of Starz said, The success of BMF demonstrates a continued rise in fan demand and interest in the story of the Flenory brothers,”

By ADRIAN SAINZ Associated Press
MEMPHIS, Tenn. The 36-year-old who grew up on the Memphis streets was in town to hand out turkeys at a church and other locations the ahead of Thanksgiving. Return trips like this one had become common throughout his life, which ended Wednesday when he was shot inside a popular, family-owned bakery in Memphis. Authorities on Thursday released surveillance photos that show two men exiting a white Mercedes-Benz and shooting Young Dolph before fleeing. Police are still searching for the gunmen.

Black Pastors Rally Outside Arbery Trial

Many carried signs that said “Black pastors matter”

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — Hundreds of pastors are rallying at the Georgia courthouse where three white men are on trial in the killing of Ahmaud Arbery. The mostly Black group gathered Thursday in response to a defense lawyer’s bid to keep Black ministers out of the courtroom. Many carried signs that said “Black pastors matter,” and some wore buttons with Arbery’s picture. The Rev. Al Sharpton announced the rally after a defense attorney said he didn’t want “any more Black pastors” sitting in the Glynn County courtroom with Arbery’s family. The February 2020 shooting death of the 25-year-old Black man deepened a national outcry over racial injustice after cellphone video of the death leaked two months later.

Chase Young’s Season is Done

Washington coach Ron Rivera confirmed the prognosis for Young on Monday

Chase Young will not play the rest of this season after injuring his right leg and is scheduled to underdog surgery.
Washington coach Ron Rivera confirmed the prognosis for Young on Monday in the wake of the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year going down during the first half of an upset of defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay.
Rivera did not reveal whether Young tore the ACL in his right knee and did not specify what the surgery is for. Washington said Sunday that Young left the game with a knee injury, and Rivera said it was possibly an ACL tear.

The 2020 No. 2 pick finishes his second NFL season with 1 1/2 sacks. Rookie Shaka Toney is among the pass rushers who will fill in for Young at Carolina and the rest of the year.
“We’re going to rely on some young guys to step up and get opportunities,” Rivera said.
Young got hurt Sunday while trying to get past left tackle Donovan Smith in order to pressure Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady. He ended up on the grass, wincing and writhing around on the ground for a bit, all the while keeping his right leg straight.
After Young was checked by team trainers, a cart was driven out onto the field. But Young declined to get on and be driven off, instead motioning for teammate Brandon Scherff to give him a hand to help stand up.
Young then headed toward the locker room, draping his arms on the shoulders of two people for support while he limped off. He gave teammates a speech of encouragement at halftime and returned to the sideline on crutches later.

Defense Objects to Rev. Jesse Jackson at Arbery Trial

Defense entered a motion to eject Jackson from the courtroom gallery

(Brunswick, GA) — The Reverend Jesse Jackson is in Georgia for the trial of three white men charged in the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery. However, the defense entered a motion to eject Jackson from the courtroom gallery, claiming his presence could impact the members of the jury. The judge denied the motion. Last week, Lawyer Kevin Gough also tried to get the court to prevent any more, in his words, “Black pastors,” from attending the trial after Reverend Al Sharpton was spotted in the gallery. Arbery is the 25-year-old unarmed Black man who was shot to death while on a jog last year.

Review of Halle Berry’s ‘Bruised’

A Deadline writer recently reviewed Halle Berry’s new movie Bruised.
This is her first time directing a film. The project is in select theaters and is also streaming on Netflix.
The Deadline writer had nothing but nice things to say about the actress’s directorial debut.
They wrote, “Bottom line is there is no question Berry has thrown it all against the wall with this one and acquitted herself admirably, not just as you might expect acting-wise from the Oscar-winning star of Monster’s Ball but also behind the camera.”
They added, “Berry certainly knows a strong role when she sees it and clearly wanted to protect it by jumping into the directorial ring as well. What some scenes lack in subtlety she makes up for with the sheer will to simply pull this all off in the first place.”
Will you see Bruised? What is Halle Berry’s best role?

Shaquille O’Neal will be forever etched into the fabric of the NBA and its history. The Hall of Famer knows his limits and says he doesn’t regret turning down Stephen King’s “The Green Mile.”

On Thursday, November 18th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., WHUR joined Macy’s Metro Center at its iconic holiday window unveiling to pull the curtains back on two Macy’s displays highlighting the radio station’s five decades of excellence in broadcasting and community service.

The holiday windows display in the District of Columbia lines the streets 12th and G Streets, NW and traditionally draws crowds by the hundreds to watch the eye pleasing presentation.

“Everyone knows the holidays would not be holidays without the Macy’s windows unveiling. It’s truly an honor for WHUR to take part in the celebration this year and it’s another reason for us to show how proud we are to be a part of the Washington community,” said WHUR General Manager Sean Plater.

WHUR, which is owned by Howard University, officially turns 50 on Friday, December 10th at 6 p.m. The Washington Post gifted the radio station to Howard in 1971. “We are proud to celebrate five decades and we are going to do the work to make sure we are here for many more decades to come,” added Plater.

Biden Catches Heat for Calling Satchel Paige ‘the Great Negro’

President Joe Biden raised a lot of eyebrows and offended a lot of people on Thursday when he referred to baseball legend Satchel Paige as “the great negro.”
The verbal gaffe occurred during Biden’s Veterans Day address at Arlington National Cemetery. During the speech, the president launched into a story about Paige, who played in the “Negro leagues” before joining Major League Baseball in the late 1940s.
“I’ve adopted the attitude of the great negro at the time, pitcher of the Negro leagues, who went on to become a great pitcher in the pros — in Major League Baseball — after Jackie Robinson,” Biden told the crowd. “His name was Satchel Paige.”
Is Biden a racist or just not up-to-date on current vernacular? Do you find his goof offensive?

Travis Scott’s Attorneys Slam Officials for “Inconsistent Messages” on Astroworld Tragedy

Travis Scott’s attorney is slamming Houston officials for “inconsistent messages” about the Astroworld tragedy.

Attorney Edwin F. McPherson addressed “finger-pointing” by city officials who McPherson says, “have sent inconsistent messages and have backtracked from original statements.”

Houston police chief Troy Finner was quoted in the New York Times as saying, ‘You cannot just close when you got 50,000 and over 50,000 individuals. We have to worry about rioting, riots when you have a group that’s that young.’ Yet, just a short time later, Chief Finner states the responsibility to stop the show falls on Travis,” said McPherson.

It was reported that the operations plans stated the only individuals with the power to shut down the concert fell on the festival director and executive producers, neither of which are part of Travis’ crew. However, in 2019 HPD shut down the concert after Travis went overtime by five minutes.

An insider told PEOPLE that Travis was unable to see or hear anything beyond his inner-ear producers. No one told Travis to stop until the end of the concert.

Do you think Travis is to blame for what happened at Astroworld?

Petty previously spent four years in prison after pleading guilty to raping Jennifer Hough back in 1994. He is required to register as a sex offender which he didn’t do when he moved to Los Angeles, this triggered a violation of his probation.

Hough claims that due to her not withdrawing her harassment and intimidation lawsuit her life was threatened by Petty and Minaj.

“I pled guilty to attempted rape, despite my innocence, because I was a scared 16-year-old kid and was told that my sentence would be 20 years to life if I did not plead guilty to attempted rape,” said Petty.

By MARK KENNEDY AP Entertainment Writer
Music-related gifts are an easy choice this holiday season. Everyone likes music, right? The Associated Press is recommending box sets from Billy Joel looking back to his first albums, and Lil Wayne, who has collected hit singles from his “Tha Carter” albums. If you’re looking for something harder, Metallica has a 53-track behemoth of covers from the band’s landmark Black Album by artists including Phoebe Bridgers, Miley Cyrus, St. Vincent, Weezer and Elton John. And if you want to look good while doing good, the AP suggests picking up some merchandise from the nonprofit Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which helps musicians struggling to make ends meet.
