A couple of days later, she admits that her “only regret” would be her “reaction to the racism and discrimination,” that she experienced. She went on to express how KLM Royal Dutch Airlines “never cared to hear it from the jump” referring to her side of the story.
My only regret is my reaction to the racism and discrimination I experienced. I would like to explain what happened to me but KLM has made it clear that they never cared to hear it from jump. It’s painful being silenced like this. It’s painful what I went through. I’m not ok.

Lennox has not responded to the claims made by the police, being that she was held because she allegedly made threats before and during her arrest.

WHUR UNVEILS MURAL MARKING 50TH ANNIVERSARY
“We stand on the history and legacy of Howard University understanding our driving force is Howard’s motto of ‘Truth and Service’ and this mural showcases that commitment,” added Plater. Last month, the station’s legacy was featured as part of Macy’s Metro Center holiday window display. That display can be seen through December 13th at two windows at along 12th and G Streets, NW.
The radio station first hit the airwaves December 10, 1971 at 6pm. Five decades later, WHUR is highlighting its golden anniversary with a large mural depicting the many voices, faces, and images that have kept the station going strong for half a century. “It’s so fitting that this special WHUR mural is located outside the iconic Ben’s Chili Bowl, which has been a staple of the DMV community for decades,” said WHUR General Manager Sean Plater.
WHUR is owned by Howard University. The Washington Post gifted the radio station to Howard for $1 in 1971. Since its inception, WHUR has become a powerhouse in the broadcasting industry winning hundreds of local and national awards for its vital role of serving the community.
The mural will be located at ‘Ben Ali Way,’ adjacent to the famed restaurant. The unveiling, which will be broadcast live, will include a special ceremony and presentations from elected leaders across the region. It is one of a host of events the radio station has planned over the coming months. Additionally on Friday at 2 p.m. at Ben’s Chili Bowl, WHUR will honor 10 listeners who won the station’s Goldie Community’s Choice Award, highlighting the best organizations, businesses, and community leaders in DMV. The winners were chosen through on-line voting.

Former ‘Real’ Host Tamera Mowry Reveals How Talk Show “Wasn’t A Safe Place”
Tamera Mowry explains how being a talk show host wasn’t the best place for her.
Contributed by Lauren Taylor
Tamera Mowry has been in the entertainment industry for decades. She started off her career as a child gaining fame with her twin sister in the show, Sister Sister. She has learned a lot of lessons over the years and from her experiences as a co-host of The Real, she realized hosting a talk show is not for her.
In an interview with Lewis Howes, Mowry described her feelings on being a co-host of The Real. “They will take what you say, put it out of context of who they think you are and that is what happened for years on that show,” she told Howes. “I will tell you this, being on a talk show and you can take it or leave it, it’s not a safe space. It’s not. I wish someone would have told me that because then I would have been prepared. I was not. I learned. Think of going to battle but you don’t know you’re going to battle.”
The star felt her experiences, though tough, were good for her. They allowed her to become a stronger person who would not let negative comments feed into insecurities that she already had.
Rather than internalize comments she would remind herself that the people critiquing her did not know her personally and that she knows who she is. That it is ok not to be perfect, as reported by Essence.
“Don’t take anything personal if they don’t know me personally, that’s what I learned. And then, I had to do a lot of inner work,” she said. Although the talk show “wasn’t a safe space” for the actress, her time there made her who she is today.

The Writer of ‘Girls Trip’ Releases New Comedy Series ‘Harlem’ on Amazon
Tracy Oliver creates new hit series ‘Harlem’ and it’s out now on Amazon Prime.
Tracy Oliver, also known as the first Black woman to write a film that grossed over $100 million, is at it yet again. Written, directed, and produced by Oliver, the new Amazon series Harlem charms its audience.
The show follows four women in the big city balancing work, love, and life in their 30-something’s. Meagan Good stars as Camille, an adjunct anthropology professor, Jerrie Johnson, as Tye the tech-wiz who’s developing a queer dating app, Grace Byers playing Quinn a trust-fund fashion designer, and Shoniqua Shandai as Angie a sex-positive singer and actress.
Good, 40, praised the diversity and relatability of the characters, “They’re just not monolithic…you see yourself in every one of these characters,” as reported by Black Enterprise.
Ukonwa Ojo, the chief marketing officer at Prime Video and Amazon Studios, expresses her thoughts on the show. “In bringing this show to life through our marketing we thought, ‘What could be better than honoring many of the inspirational women entrepreneurs who built their businesses in Harlem, or are closely connected to the community?’ That’s how this exciting activation, featuring some amazing entrepreneurs and artists, as well as activities and conversations, came to be. And just like in the show, it’s not just all about business! We wanted to create a space that celebrates the heritage of the community and that lets residents, as well as those just a subway ride away, immerse themselves in a bit of culture and fun.”
The 10 episode season of Harlem now streaming on Amazon Prime.

Hulu Releases New Documentary ‘Astroworld: Concert From Hell’
Hulu releases and quickly removes news special regarding Astroworld tragedy.
Hulu with a “post and delete.” On Wednesday, the streaming services released and subsequently removed a news special surrounding the tragic incidents that occurred only one month ago at the Astroworld Festival.
The series was titled Astroworld: Concert From Hell, it seemed to have only one episode and the description read, “Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival was supposed to be the concert of a lifetime. But it turned into a tragic nightmare. A minute-by-minute look at what happened in the crowd, the young victims who were killed, and what happens next.”
Many people believed that releasing this news special so soon, amidst people mourning and lawsuits are still in effect wasn’t the best idea. People reacted on social media voicing their opinions, one viral tweet from a user said, “Hulu making a documentary about Astroworld is in poor taste all around. People are still burying their loved ones. The legal cases haven’t even started. Great documentaries are done when all the facts are laid out. Not enough time has passed to fully discuss this.”
The Twitter user was under the impression the Hulu produced the special, which they in fact did not. According to Variety, a Hulu representative cleared the air on why the program was removed. “Astroworld: Concert From Hell” was removed from the service because it was not properly branded — the way it was presented and promoted made it look like the feature was a Hulu original, which it isn’t.” The representative did not mention the backlash from users as a reasoning for the removal.
Some people feel as though the program was necessary for some to gain closure over the incident.
6) The core of it was the families sharing stories about the night, their loved ones (it’s therapeutic to share what you loved about you loved ones), and thanking the people who tried their best to help save their family

The program was produced by KTRK, which is owned by ABC and operates locally in Houston. The original news special aired on November 20th and you can watch it here.
World’s First Living Robots Are Now Able to Reproduce
Xenobots are now able to reproduce, but not in the way that you think.
The robot life forms known as xenobots are now able to reproduce, but not in the way you think. These are not your typical ‘Wal E’ type of robots. They aren’t made out of metal but rather from the scraped living cells of frog embryos that were left to incubate.
Josh Bongard, robotics expert and computer science professor at the University of Vermont is the lead author of the study, says “Most people think of robots as made of metals and ceramics but it’s not so much what a robot is made from but what it does, which is act on its own on behalf of people,” CNN reported. The xenobots do just that.
How do these robots reproduce? The robots do not have sex in the way that animals do, nor do they reproduce in the way plants do. The parent xenobots are c-shaped robots that push loose stem cells together into piles which can mature into offspring resembling the parent. This is a new way to reproduce that scientist haven’t seen before, and is referred to as the kinetic reproduction process.
“Frogs have a way of reproducing that they normally use but when you … liberate (the cells) from the rest of the embryo and you give them a chance to figure out how to be in a new environment, not only do they figure out a new way to move, but they also figure out apparently a new way to reproduce,” says Michael Levin, a professor of biology and director of the Allen Discovery Center at Tufts University who was co-lead author of the new research.
The xenobots were first shown off in 2020. They are only 0.04 inches wide but experiments show that these robots can work together in groups, self-heal and move around on their own.
As of right now these robots can really do much for people, but with the ever so advancing technology I’m sure they’ll be able to soon.

Felicia Moore is calling out T.I. saying he spread misinformation that she said caused her to lose a run-off election to City Councilmember Andre Dickens on November 30th.
T.I. had shared a news article that said Moore wanted to tighten restrictions on recording studios. “Excuse me Mrs @feliciamooreatl but… Our Culture Runs This Town Ma’am!!” wrote T.I. on IG. “These studios (and the creatives that work in em) have laid [the] foundation and paved ways to create opportunities for this city like nothing else could.”
“They lied then, saying I wanted to close all recording studios,” Felicia Moore told TMZ about T.I. and Issac Hayes III, who she also blamed for her defeat. “The legislation would have never closed anything. It would only be for new ones.”
Moore told TMZ that T.I. also put out information saying she wanted to close strip clubs and says she hadn’t discussed stripclubs since the general election. Prior to the election T.I. posted a news headline which read: “Woman Running For Atlanta Mayor Promises To CLOSE ALL STRIP CLUBS!!!” His caption for the Instagram post read, “Respectfully of course. Police in Enumclaw, Washington are investigating a possible hate crime after two people on Zoom interrupted a school board meeting with a racist slur.

In an excerpt from his memoir, “From Staircase To Stage: The Story Of Raekwon And Wu-Tang Clan,” Reakwon discussed a Wu-Tang biopic he wanted to make with Leonardo DiCaprio, who is a big Wu-Tang fan.
RZA had other plans for a scripted TV bio-series but Raekwon wasn’t feeling it, “I was against the deal because I didn’t like the terms, the money, any of it,” Raekwon said of RZA’s idea.
Inspired by the success of NWA’s Straight Outta Compton Raekwon said, “It made no sense to me to sell our story for a TV series where nobody would walk away with real money, everybody except RZA, that is, because he was getting more on the deal — as an executive producer, writer, creator, composer, and I’m sure a few other ways we’ll never know about.”
Raekwon and RZA took three meetings with Leo about the movie, however Raekwon says RZA had no intention of working with DiCaprio, leading them to argue. Raekwon says that he “didn’t spazz” to hard on RZA but knew his Hollywood relationships were more important than his relationships with Wu-Tang.
Do you think the Wu-Tang story would’ve been better as a movie?

Every good gathering needs a charcuterie board. So how do you create the perfect one?
Here are some tips
Be creative with your surface. It doesn’t have to be a wooden board.
Pick a star ingredient. This is the focal point of the board. Could be a cheese or a dip.
Balance your flavors.
Don’t cut up your cheeses. Keeping your cheeses mostly whole preserves the flavor longer.
Variety.
Dress up the table that you are placing the charcuterie board on.

Meghan Markle has won the latest round in her long-running privacy lawsuit against a newspaper publisher in London.
The newspaper published portions of a letter she wrote to her estranged father.
The Court of Appeal in London ruled that publishing the letter was unlawful and breached her privacy.
The senior judge ruled, the Duchess had a reasonable expectation of privacy in the contents of the letter. Those contents were personal, private and not matters of legitimate public interest.
Meghan said about the ruling, while this win is precedent-setting, what matters most is that we are now collectively brave enough to reshape a tabloid industry that conditions people to be cruel and profits from the lies and pain that they create.
Do you read tabloid magazines and/or tabloid blogs? Why or why not?
